Mission To Remarry My Unbeatable Ex-wife novel Chapter 2

TERRA'S POV:

3 MONTHS LATER:

My Wedding:

"They will get married tomorrow. The gown is set, invites have been sent out, Ross will be back soon, the event is prepared and the media will be there as well. It will be perfect."

I watched as Grandpa Philip, Ross' mum, and their assistants, event planners, and staff discussed among each other. I sat there just listening without actual hearing. It didn't matter, I had made a promise to my grandfather to get married to Ross so I would do that, because the thought of my grandfather not resting peacefully just because of my selfishness didn't sit well with me.

As they continued to discuss, oftentimes calling my attention to a detail, I would force a smile and just nod in agreement. I noticed Mrs Anderson, Ross'mother, had been quite strange since I had arrived. She had been cold and though I vaguely remember our encounters, I didn't feel she had ever been this way. She barely spoke to me and when she did, it felt perfunctory.

"Are you okay, Terra?" Grandpa Philip asked and I simply nodded with a smile on my face.

Every Time I hear that question, I just feel my heart getting heavy. It felt so unreal that I would never get to hug, have a dialogue with my grandfather ever again. Evelyn had been next to me, taking care of me and being a shoulder to cry on.

"Alright, see you tomorrow. Congratulations soon to be Mrs Anderson." The event planner was so jovial and energetic, said to me as she and the others exited out of the sitting room with Mrs Anderson following behind them.

"You know you can always talk to me, Terra. Whenever and whatever you need, I'm just a call away." He spoke with sincerity in his eyes.

"Thank you." He nodded standing up and I did the same before hugging him.

After we shared a hug, the doors to the entrance bursted wide open and the whiff of woody cologne I had caught at my grandfather's funeral ceremony followed the man who had just stepped in. My eyes that were blurry with tears blinked away in order to see properly, the man who I was certain was Ross walked towards me in a clean black suit and a black well-polished suit. He was literally the most handsome man I had ever seen, his gray eyes which I had rarely seen on anybody was so attractive but as he stared at me his eyes nor his face held no emotions.

"Hey Grandpa." He greeted but his gaze was on me, staring at me with an unreadable expression.

"What's up Grandson? I doubt you have met Terra yet and likewise. Terra, this is my handsome grandson, Ross. Ross, Tera. I will leave you two to get acquainted." Grandpa Philips gave Ross a pat on the back, walking out of the room.

As soon as we were alone, I smiled small, waiting for him to say something but nothing came. He just gave me an overlook and left the whole sitting room, leaving me standing there while I watched his retreating figure.

Is this the person Grandpa will ensure my happiness and safety?
