Chapter 84 It’s simply an adorable contrast.
After grabbing a quick bite to eat, Alex looked at Tara. “What was that plan you mentioned earlier?”
Tara thought for a moment before speaking. “It might not work, but it’s worth a try.”
Alex watched her closely.
Tara leaned in and asked, “That person just wants your mom gone. What do you think he’ll do if he finds out he didn’t
succeed?”
Alex’s eyes narrowed. “I get what you’re saying.”
“Set a trap and see if he’ll show up himself,” Tara suggested with a raised eyebrow.
Alex smiled. “I take back what I said about you earlier.”
“What did you say?”
“That you were being silly.”
Tara huffed, “Hey, that was a normal reaction, okay? Who would’ve thought that someone feared in the hacking world
would be a kid? No one would guess that!”
Listening to Tara, Alex nodded in agreement. “Thanks for the compliment.”
Tara was speechless for a moment. She looked him over and said, “How come you’re not the least bit humble, you little
genius?”
“Is it necessary?” Alex asked while munching on his food.
Tara thought for a moment and realized it probably wasn’t.
For someone so young to have such skills and achievements without becoming arrogant was a testament to his upbringing, Tara mused.
His mother must be an excellent parent!

Tara continued eating and looked at him, “You know, you should really consider getting a better education.
“Hmm? What kind of education?”
“I heard from Quinn that there’s a training center in the upper district. It’s filled with talented kids from all over the country. They receive top–notch education, the best techniques, and the most intense training to become well–rounded individuals.
The selection process is tough, but I’m sure you could make it.”
Alex smirked, “I’ll pass.”
“Not interested? You know, many people would give anything to get in,” Tara said.
“I just want to be with my mom.”
Tara paused, “Well, that’s a unique ambition.”
“Does your mom disagree?”
“I don’t know, but I want to be with her and protect her.”
“Your mom has your dad to protect her. Kids shouldn’t interrupt their parents‘ time together.”
“She’s single,” Alex replied.
“Uh…” Tara paused for a moment, then looked at him. “You’re from a single–parent family?”
He nodded.
“Then your mom must be an amazing person,” Tara couldn’t help but say. Raising such a well–mannered kid in a
single–parent household was truly impressive.
He smiled and nodded again. In his eyes, his mom, Scarlett, was indeed exceptional. The kind of person no one could
surpass.
Seeing his reaction, Tara decided not to press further. “Alright, let’s take it one step at a time. But if Kun finds out, he’ll
definitely try to get you in.”

“That depends on whether I want to go.”
“You’re really wasting your talents.”
“I like wasting them.”
Tara felt the conversation was going nowhere.
After they finished eating, Tara looked at him. “Okay, it’s getting late. Should I take you to the hospital?”
He nodded.
When they reached the hospital entrance, he showed no intention of getting out of the car.
Tara glanced at him. “Why aren’t you getting out?”
“I’ll wait until tomorrow morning. My mom’s probably asleep now. I’ll go when she’s awake,” he said.
Tara frowned, about to ask something, but he found a comfortable position. “I’m a bit sleepy. I’ll take a nap first.”
Tara was speechless. By the time she thought of saying something, First had already closed his eyes.
Looking at him, with that adorable, soft, and fair little face, she just couldn’t bring herself to speak.
Life was so unfair!
Someone so cunning and shocking in the hacker world should look fierce, right? How could he be so cute?
The contrast was just too endearing!
Just looking at his face made her forget how “fierce” he actually was.
Thinking about how young he was and still growing, Tara decided to let it go. She found a comfortable spot and drifted
off to sleep.
The next day.

William had stayed up all night by Scarlett’s side, his eyes red from exhaustion.
His mind was filled with memories of Scarlett growing up. Over the years, she never caused trouble or asked for anything.
Even when she married Hugo and then divorced, she never complained.
She was so understanding it broke his heart.
William never blamed her for anything, but why did she always have to face such hardships?
His heart ached for her.
At that moment, Scarlett’s eyelids fluttered, and she woke up.
“Grandpa?” she murmured.
William immediately turned to her. “Sweetheart, you’re awake? How are you feeling? Are you okay?”
Scarlett glanced around the room and then shook her head. “I’m fine.”
“Are you sure? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere? I can call the doctor.”
“Grandpa.”
She stopped William from leaving. “Really, I’m okay.”
He looked at her closely. “Really?”
“It’s just some minor injuries, really nothing.” Scarlett said, noticing the red veins in his eyes. “Did you stay up all night?”
“With you like this, how could I sleep?” he replied.
Scarlett felt a wave of guilt. “I’m sorry for worrying you again.”
“Silly girl, don’t say that. As long as you’re okay, that’s all that matters to me,” William said.
She looked at him and gave a small smile.

William thought for a moment, looking at her. “Kiddo, there’s something I need to tell you, but I’m not sure how.”
Scarlett just looked at him silently.
“Hugo is outside,” he said.
Scarlett remained silent.
“Fourth and Second are next door.”
Scarlett thought, “…”
It was inevitable. Even though it was so untimely, it still happened!
She remembered Hugo’s phone call right before she entered the hospital yesterday. To avoid him, she had pretended to
faint.
After that, she really didn’t know anything.
Seeing Scarlett’s silence, William spoke with concern, “Kiddo, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me.”
To his surprise, Scarlett responded calmly, “Grandpa, I’m fine. Hugo finding out was only a matter of time.”
“Are you really okay?” William still seemed a bit skeptical.
Scarlett nodded.
“Did Hugo find out?” William asked. “I haven’t told him anything.”
Scarlett shook her head. “I’m not sure, but once he sees the kid, it’ll be hard to keep it a secret.”
Scarlett couldn’t figure out how Hugo managed to communicate with Fourth or how he knew she was in danger. But aside from that, once he sees the kid, knowing Hugo’s nature, he’ll definitely dig for the truth.
There’s no way to keep this under wraps any longer!
