Reborn, She's Back for Revenge novel Chapter 64

Chapter 64

Marcus’s looks had always been the gold standard in his social circle, ever since he was a kid. He saw his own face in the mirror every day, stunning beauty steed right in front of him, he never felt a thing.

But this was the first time a woman had truly stunned him. He thought, ‘No, calling her a woman isn’t right. She’s just a girl, not even grown up yet.

He quickly snapped out of it and said indifferently, Not bad.”

Just then, a staff member walked in and said respectfully. The party is about to begin, sir. You’re welcome to ender and take your seat now

Marcus stood up and walked out. As he passed by Edith, he paused and said in a low voice, After the party, wait for me at the entrance of the school

With that, he strode out.

Kane hurried after him, but instead of following Marcus to the auditorium, he took the box of candy and left Sunspire High School, heading straight for a nearby research institute

The party at Sunspire High School was a grand affair, with many big shots from politics and business in attendance. Even the usually stern and formal principal had softened up, shaking hands and chatting with these important guests.

The students who were performing all gathered backstage, whispering and gossiping among themselves.

Did you know someone from the Larson family was invited as a VIP? It’s the guy sitting right in the middle of the first row. i think that’s Marcus Larson.”

Oh my god, Marcus is so handsome! Even more so than Larry, is the Larry’s brother?

Larry’s parents must be super goodlooking. How else could these two brothers be so handsome?

Lots of girls were totally fangirling over Marcus, but Hallie frowned. The Lovett family’s villa was close to the Larson family’s, so she knew for a fact that Larry was an only child. He didn’t have a brother.

She thought, So who exactly is this guy named Marcus Larson? And what’s his connection to the Larson family?

Just as Hallie was lost in thought, a girl next to her snickered, Edith still hasn’t come backstage, She didn’t even bother with makeup or change into her performance outfit. Did she get cold feet and bail?

Hallie’s eyes darkened. At first, she wanted to totally outshine Edith on the piano, leave her in the dust. But after hearing Edith play that day, she changed her mind.

She wanted Edith to embarrass herself on stage, and to have everyone laughing at her before she could even touch the keys.

Hallie thought, But now, that bitch had actually chickened out and didn’t even show up. Makes sense. Who would dare show up at an event like this without even putting on makeup?

I want to be the only one on stage. I want the spotlight to shine just on me, and every bit of applause to be mine alone. This is exactly what I craved!

Hallie sat up straight, making sure she looked as graceful as ever.

At exactly seven o’clock, the host announced that the party was officially starting. After the opening remarks, the host announced passionately, H, let’s welcome Mr. Larson to the stage for a few words.

The lounge Edith was in had been specially arranged by the school for Marcus, and from here, she had a perfect view of the stage. When she heard the words Mr. Larson, she froze for a second and thought, Wait, is Larry’s dad here, too?

As far as I can remember, he has never shown up at any events in Sunspire. He is always away on business in Bonnea, and hardly anyone in Sunspire can get him to attend anything. Maybe he came this time because Larry is studying

While Edith was still lost in her thoughts, she saw the man sitting dead center in the first row stand up.

A spotlight landed on him, almost like the light itself was obsessed with him, I poured over his face and made his stren more breathtaking,

When Edith realized that the sickly Marcus she’d always imagined was actually the man on stage, she slumped back onto the sofa in shock.

Cathy didn’t notice anything off about her. She was too busy fangirling with her hands pressed to her cheeks. He’s so handsome:

Edith had never met Marcus in her p previous life. She grew up with Larry, and he’d told her about his uncle beforehow Marcus had always been sickly since he was born, always dealing with some illness.

She’d always pictured Marcus as someone stuck in bed, too weak to do anything. So when she later heard that Marcus had passed away, the honestly didn’t feel a thing.

For one, she didn’t actually know Larry’s uncle at all. Besides, she’d always known he had some serious illness that couldn’t be cured, so it wasn’t surprising he died young.

And also, she had enough of her own problems to deal with, so she really didn’t have the time or energy to mourn for someone she barely kna

accident instead.

The day Marcus died, Hallie set her up and got her into a car accident. When she got out of surgery, the doctor told her she’d never walk again for the rest

of her life.

When she was at her lowest, she saw the pain written all over Larry’s face. He sat by her bed, sobbing as he poured out everything about the Larson family. She cried as well, and in the end, she cried herself unconscious.

Honestly, she hadn’t heard a single word Larry said that day, so no matter how hard she tried to remember, it was all just a blur. She couldn’t recall a

thing.

It felt like a stone was weighing on Edith’s heart. They hardly had anything to do with each other, barely even crossed paths, but just knowing he’d be gone in three years made her look at him with a heaviness she couldn’t shake,

After Marcus finished his speech, the show officially kicked off

eher

The piano performance was the third one. Edith took her time steadying her nerves, and as the second act was coming to a close, she walked out of the makeup room and headed straight backstage to get ready for her turn.

As soon as she stepped in, she heard Hale’s soft, delicate voice. The makeup artist was a bit rude, but Edith shouldn’t have just left like that. The show’s about to start, and she still hasn’t shown up. That’s just so irresponsible.

Who told you I left?Edith’s icy voice sounded. Everyone turned their heads in unison. There was Edith, walking in with a calm, steady stride, dressed in a stunning gown.

Kerrie let out a sigh of relief. You’ve got one minute before you’re up. Hurry and get in position backstage.”

Edith quietly walked over. The closer she got, the more it was obvious that her face was absolutely perfect, not a single flaw in sight.

If her natural beauty was already a nine out of toh, after the makeup artists worked their magic, she was off the charts. And with that gown accentuating her every move, she was absolutely radiant.

Hallie’s face went completely rigid. She thought, What the hell is going on? That bitch was supposed to come out bare faced, in that rigged dress! Why does she look so perfect

But before Hallie could even process what was happening, the host called out the next act, and everyone in the piano performance filed onto the stage

Halbe felt totally out of it. She’d been riding high on confidence, but treing Edith all glammed up and drop dead gorgeous had almost cnished her port

She sat down at the piano, and for a split second, her mind just went blank. She took several deep breaths, and only when the white spotlight bit her did she barely manage to pull herself together
