Nora

She turned to walk away from him as if she didn’t belong in this very room, and more whispers set

off around the room. His hand latched right onto her arm. “What do you mean by that?” he pulled

her to a halt and pulled her around to face him. “I did all of this for you, yet you turn up like this.” He

waved a hand at her outfit.

She heard many gasps go throughout the room, and she knew they were all taking it as an insult on

her behalf, considering how beautiful she actually looked right this very moment. “I bought a Luna

dress from Zelda’s it’s champagne in color, which goes with everything inside this room. Are you

purposely trying to embarrass me? Are you so petty that you would have everyone here think I’ve

never bought you anything?” He murmured, his annoyance showing now.

“No,” she answered, and looked right at him. “I don’t have to try and make them think that, Jace.

You have never given me anything,” she stated simply.

“Oh, and your car and the dress and the jewelry for the Luna Ceremony, where do you think they all

came from?”

Nora looked up at him. “I’ve never received a car from you,” she said, and shook her head ‘no‘ at

him, and he may have purchased it, but technically she hadn’t been given it, because it had yet to

arrive.

“I bought you a car, an Audi,” he stated.

“I’ve never seen it or received it,” she shook her head. “I’ve been here as your Mate for five months. I still drive my own car. Everyone in the pack knows that.” she countered and heard whispers once

more of:

‘She does drive her own car‘

‘I’ve never seen her drive an Audi.’

“It’s been ordered and will arrive soon,” he grated out. “Stop doing this to me, it’s disrespectful.”

“No, car takes five months to get here,” Alpha Clayton stated. “If it took you five months to even purchase a car, that’s disrespectful. I her former Alpha am also still paying for her education; you’ve never taken that over either. Nora has never lied, as far as I know. Just what is going on,

Alpha Jace?”

Jace looked at him and grated “Stay out of this Alpha Clayton,” then he turned back to Nora. “So, the champagne and lace dress, the phoenix jewelry I purchased from Tiffiny’s for this very Luna Ceremony, to present my Luna to the pack in. Did I imagine all that?” he stated.

She turned to look at the orchestra as she felt Gloria arrive at the packhouse ballroom and raised

her hand in the air and, as on cue they started to play the song she had requested of them, ‘Wits

and Wisdom by Mattia Turzo‘, and as she heard the orchestra hit the first note, she mind–linked to

Gloria “in 45 seconds make you entrance.”

She stood there on that stage before all, and she turned to look at Jace and saw him staring at the

orchestra, a frown on his face, at the dark ominous sound that had be struck for all here to hear.

Then his eyes moved back to hers, before his head whipped to the orchestra as the second dramatic entry of the song rang out.

“I guess Jace, your Luna is wearing that Luna Gown that you purchased, along with any jewelry you bought. It’s all likely tailored to the woman you love.”

She could see his confusion now and his eyes moved to the orchestra once more as the music became like a soft dramatic crescendo, and she knew he was going to stop it. She reached out and stopped him from halting it, keeping his hand down. “Do you want to stop the music that I want played? Prefer something more suited to the Luna… I thought this was for me, but now I see it’s not. I guess I was right. I’m just your mate, where is the woman this is all for… Where is the Luna?” she stated as a high crescendo played.

Then, as on cue, Gloria pushed both doors open to the ballroom and stepped into the room, drawing attention to her entrance to the room, right as the music started to hit the high notes, and everyone turned to stare at her, including Jace and his unit. There she stood, making a grand entrance into this ballroom, dressed perfectly as the Luna to the pack, adorned in million–dollar jewels. Her hair and make–up done looking stunning; dressed to be presented to the Moon

Goddess.

The entire pack and all of Jace’s allied guests were now getting to see that Gloria, his Luna of the past 60 years, was wearing a champagne and lace dress, which Jace had just mentioned, and the

jewelry he’d purchased as well.

Not once had he stated ‘the Luna dress or jewelry I purchased for you, Nora‘, had stated ‘he’d purchased for this very Luna Ceremony. After he’d asked why she was there standing before him, he’d not thought about the words he’d spoken; when he should have.

The whole room was quiet now as the music played on in an increasing pace until it petered out and all eyes were still on Gloria, who had smiled as she made her entrance. But who now looked a little uncertain about the attention she was getting; from absolutely everyone in this room.

Gloria’s eyes moved towards her and then Jace and Nora stated, “I see Jace, as always Gloria gets the Luna dress and the Luna jewelry you purchased for the Luna Ceremony.” She saw him turn and

stare at her now.

“That is not true,”

“Then how is it that Gloria is wearing the Luna dress and Luna’s jewelry, you kept them in your suite

for safe keeping. Did you give them to her to wear?” she asked him now.

“No, I did not.” He snapped at her. “I don’t know how she got them. I thought you had them. You said your Luna dress was in your room.”

“Hmm I did, and my Luna dress, is this very one I’m wearing. It was in my room. I bought it myself in case you lied to me about whom this ceremony was for, and you tailored everything to Gloria to humiliate me. You were the one that picked out a champagne–colored dress.” she shook her head

at him.

“I never gave her that dress to wear. I wouldn’t. I bought it for you. I don’t know how she got it. Did

you give it to her?” he asked right back. “Just to humiliate me in front of everyone, like you’re doing,

is that your goal?”

“Oh…, so you blame me, for Gloria taking something that was supposed to be mine,” she rolled her

eyes and folded her arms across her chest now. There was the Jace she’d always seen. It was all

that woman had ever done since Nora had come here to this pack. “What a shocker. Yet again

Jace, you take her side. I guess that truly means you believe she can do no wrong…” she turned to

walk away from him and found his hand on her to stop her once more.

“Mark, grab Gloria now, bring her here,” he rapped out as he pulled Nora around to face him once

again. “We’ll sort this out.” He told her.

That was all he ever said, but he never did. “If you didn’t give her that dress and I certainly didn’t,

does that mean she stole them from your suite?… Did Gloria steal from you, the Alpha? Just to

show up here and put me in my place.

“Just to make sure that I understand she is the Luna to be on your arm, and I’m just your Mate to be in your bed. As she has done continually for the entire time I’ve been here, and you never once

saw anything wrong with it… enjoyed having your mistress at your side.” She grated out and yanked

her arm from his grip.

“You never once cared to punish her for anything, not even for attacking me, which you had to stop, and took the hit yourself. She drew blood, because all her claws were out, yet you didn’t even care to punish her for attacking me. No, instead you blamed me for that, as I recall it, because she’s f*****g perfect and can do no wrong.” Nora snarled at him and there was Rosa behind her snarl now too, her own wolf showing her anger and displeasure at their treatment; for all in this ballroom to hear.

He was staring at her now as she started to out him and all he’d done to them, to all the guests he’d invited. She’d warned him, if he even once tried to defend that woman it was over, that she’d be the one to tell the pack all he’d done to her, and he had just done that. Defended that b***h without so much as a single thought not to. He had fallen right back into protecting that b***h. So, she was following through on her own words.

“I guess you don’t love me, that it was all a lie this past month. Nothing you’ve said to me was the truth… I guess what I heard you state, just five weeks after my coming here, is actually true… now

isn’t it!

“Your words that day shattered my heart and broke my wolf. To have to hear you, my own Mate, tell that she–wolf there,” she pointed at Gloria as she was hauled up on the stage by Mark, and he was hauling her now, as Gloria came to the realization of what Nora was actually doing, showing this very pack just how cruel and deceitful she was, that she was not worth the title Luna.

“That you love her. You spoke the words out loud for anyone to hear, uncaring of how I would feel if I heard them even, words from your lips to mine and Rosa’s ears. That I was nothing to you, it was just the Mate Bond. That only your wolf, Hydro, loves Rosa and I. That you don’t love me.” She told

him finally, when and what he’d said, that had ruined their mate bond.

She heard many gasps ripple through the crowd and several snarls as well. She knew those snarls were from her old pack and a few other Lunas in this very room. “Every single word out of your mouth is just a lie, in order to keep me here to produce an heir for you… and Gloria, to raise after you take that child and banish me.” She told him. “That was your plan for me all along.” She stated loudly for all to hear, and she heard many horrified gasps ring out within the room.

“It’s not like that.” Jace shook his head. “I love you Nora, I don’t want anyone else for a Mate, or to

my Luna. Gloria is not who I want. I do not love her, she is nothing to me anymore.”
