Nora was out to not only humiliate him but to punish him as well, as though Matt had told him

she’d want to do. Nora had set this up and a part of him had thought she’d given Gloria that dress

and jewelry. Her words about she hadn’t. Why would she when Gloria just took everything that was

hers, and he allowed her to do so!

Told him she’d not given them to her, and she was right. He’d not smelled Nora in his suite the day

he’d come home from the city and found the dress and jewelry gone. ‘I got the footage of your

suite boss. John stated ‘Gloria went in and took the dress and jewelry, the day you told us Nora

had collected it.‘

Nora may have set all this up, the music, Gloria’s entrance into the ballroom, but it was likely only

because Gloria had probably told her he’d given her that dress and jewelry and was going to announce her to all as his Luna, humiliating Nora, and why wouldn’t she believe it after all she’d

suffered here inside his pack at his and Gloria’s hands.

All she was asking him to do was actively punish Gloria in front of everyone, and he knew she’d

asked him to do it, multiple times throughout their mate bond. To punish her, had he punished

Gloria for anything and no he hadn’t, not in her eyes, unseating her and sending her to live in a

single dorm wasn’t punishment.

Not when he now realized that Gloria had likely been in her ear the whole time, telling her she was

nothing, that it was all for show, that this Luna ceremony was for her and not Nora, that first dress

he’d presented to Nora even, now as he looked at Gloria wearing the dress he’d thought Nora had

chosen for herself, was he now realized very similar to the one he’d chosen, that had been picked

out for him with Gloria in mind.

it was even the same color. He’d been blinded to it because he’d just been happy that she’d chosen

a dress, so he hadn’t realized it was similar, or had, but had dismissed it and just kind of convinced

himself she was trying to please him by choosing the same color, something he’d told her he

thought would look good on her.

Gloria had still been manipulating things behind the scenes around him. No wonder he struggled

so very much to get anywhere with Nora. No wonder she couldn’t believe him, that he loved her and wanted no other. That he was sorry. His eyes turned on Gloria as he balled his fists. She’d ruined everything and why? Because she wanted to be the official Luna to this pack was all,

He stood looking at Gloria wearing all the things he’d bought for Nora, to try and prove she was the one he loved and would cherish from now on, and everything she said about the dress, the jewelry being all tailored to her, and he now knew that Luna Ceremony planning book had been a rouse to make him go with pack colors which were tailored to Gloria, and her love of deep red roses,

something he knew she always displayed with the green leaves around the roses, red on green. Pack colors always on display around her.

So, no matter if he’d used the Luna Celebration planner book; which he also knew was tailored to Gloria’s preference. Because she’d altered that dress coloring in that picture. No matter what he did, even choosing to go with pack colors, Gloria knew that it would look to Nora like he was doing everything with Gloria in mind; she was so manipulative that he couldn’t win this battle.

Gloria knew him too well, and Nora had never seen anything but him going to Gloria and that she was given everything she wanted, whereas Nora had gotten nothing from him, not even so much as a birthday card or flowers, until it was all too late.

He snarled at Gloria. He’d loved her once, thought she was sweet and gentle by nature always, but

now he saw only a mean, spiteful, vindictive she–wolf that wanted something that was not hers, wanted something their Goddess had given to another, but had still done everything to keep him at

her side.

“Jace no,” she shook her head, “I love you, don’t do this. She wants you to kill me is all,” she pleaded

with him.

“Because you tore us apart at every opportunity, and I was blinded to your actions because of 60 years of you being the acting Luna to this pack,” he snarled at her. “I never knew you were such a cruel, heartless, vindictive woman. You hid it well,” he stated. “Now you have to be punished for all

your crimes.”

“You’ll end up just like your father.” Gloria suddenly snarled at him. “Dead because you killed the

woman you love.”

“No, I won’t, because with you gone, I’ll have proved to Nora where my loyalty lies, that I love her, and she is where she belongs at my side, where she should have always been, as my Luna, No more will you get inside her head, or manipulate me with your words and actions, make me think you were caring of Nora’s feelings, and taking her age and studies into consideration, only to really be driving a wedge between us, with every seemingly compassionate word you spoke to me, when in fact it was all just your deceitful way to keep me next to you.”

“You’ll regret killing me, it’s what she wants.” Gloria yelled at him as she struggled against both Matt and Mark’s grip. They wouldn’t let her go, they already thought de–ranking or banishment was not going to resolve Nora’s trust issues. Even Nora had said it once, that if he sent her to an allied

pack, how did she know he wouldn’t just go there to see her?

This b***h had to die. That was the only solution to everything that he’d done. It was the only fitting punishment for a she–wolf that came between an Alpha and his Luna’s bond, and he knew it. No Alpha would stand for any harm coming to his mate and Luna, yet he had done all of that to his own Mate, allowing the harming of her to happen at this she wolf’s own hand. He didn’t even know

he was harming Nora until it was too late.

The only way to prove he truly loved Nora and would be loyal to her from this moment on, was to kill Gloria, which would serve as a warning to the rest of the pack not to get between him and his

Mate. He and Hydro reached out and snapped her neck, and Mark and Matt let her go, and her lifeless body dropped to the floor.

He knew somewhere inside of him he should probably care that she was dead, that he’d been the

one to kill her, considering he’d loved her for so very long, but he didn’t. Staring down at her lifeless body, all he could see was that she’d ruined his bond at every turn. That she was wearing everything he’d bought for Nora.

He reached down and removed the jewelry from Gloria, and turned to Nora. She was standing there with her former Alpha and his unit right behind her. They were here to make sure no harm

came to her from him during all of this. He couldn’t even blame them for it.

He walked over to her. “I bought these for you. I explained why they were rubellites even, because they symbolize the phoenix, which can rise from the ashes of pain and destruction and be born

again, and that is what I want for us,” he told her.

“I understand I made a lot of mistakes, Nora, but I have now pledged my loyalty to you and I will make sure no harm ever comes to you again, emotional or physical. I do love you, and I want for us

to continue to work our way back to each other, to recreate our bond and let it grow and flourish.”

He held out the necklace to her. “You are my Luna, beautiful, strong and resilient, just like a

phoenix. You are the only Luna for me and my pack, so very patient, and the way you stayed and fought for us, I know that deep down you want us to be together still. No more will you have to fight for us. I am yours now, and forever.”

He watched her look from him to the offered necklace, and then she just slashed it from his hand

and on to the floor. “Do you really expect me to accept that?” she grated out incredulously ”

something you just took from Gloria, to give to me.” She shook her head almost as if in disbelief.

“Just like on my birthday, after you found out it was my birthday, at the end of the night, and I had

to tell you why I was mad at you, did so in front of many witnesses” she waved her hand at pack

members “and what did you do after that… You went to Gloria for comfort, and I got hit with pains of betrayal, and then you came directly from her to me, and gave me one of the roses that had

been in her office and told me you were sorry” She snorted “told me when I was insulted by you

giving me a rose from you mistress ‘It’s the thought that counts!” She shook her head “No it’s not,
