Nora
Nora stood staring at him, how did he not get it? She’d laid it all out for him, for everyone to hear. Even now, as he stood there refusing to accept it, she heard Luna Nelly clap her hands and several
others in the room follow along. She knew it was her former Luna’s women. They were proud of her for standing up for herself and not letting herself be convinced to go back to this asshole.
before her.
As she looked at the crowd, she could see her mother was smiling at her, filming it all for her little
sister to see later on. Not that Nora would ever watch it herself. Her father nodded to her and as
her eyes moved about the room, she saw three other Lunas clapping along with Luna Nelly.
Approving of her words and actions it appeared to her.
Alpha Desmond didn’t smile at her, but he bowed his head as if to show her his respect for her
decision to reject her Alpha Mate. It kind of looked a little on the solemnly knowing side to her. She
wondered if he’d seen, or knew it was likely coming. After all, he’d been the one to try and pull Jace
into line, and it had not worked.
She also knew no Alpha ever liked seeing another Alpha/Luna bond being broken in this manner. It
would likely remind them that all bonds, even their own, could be severed, and what they
themselves could lose, if they treated their Luna wrongly.
She finally turned her eyes back to Jace, and she could see the pain of their bond severing in his
facial expression. Her eyes moved away from him to his unit and Matt was just kind of staring at
her with a sorrowful look on his face. “You’re not a good Gamma.” She announced to the room for
all to hear “You should retire yourself, any Gamma worthy of the Goddess‘ gift, should have been
able to see and prevent all of this. Know his Alpha was not only harming his own Mate, but killing
his own Mate’s wolf as well. You saw and felt nothing, you Matthew, are no better than your own Alpha, only ever concerned yourself with Gloria.”
She turned her eyes back to Jace as the pain of herself being torn from Jace was starting to be felt so much so that she needed him to accept it, and sever their connection at his end. She was it appeared handling it better than he was, but that was unfortunately likely due to all the pain he’d made her suffer already, and her unbending resolve to end this bond with him.
“There is nothing to fix,” she told Jace flatly, because there was no fixing it in her eyes. “Accept it or live stuck to me forever, I am not yours anymore. Nothing you can ever do in our long lives will see me return to you. But you should heed my warning here and now, Jace… if you don’t accept it, can’t.
“I will make you suffer everything I suffered, all the pains of betrayal, because I am leaving this pack to return to my old life. I’m not going to just hide away, ashamed that you didn’t love me. Because I know I deserve so much better than you… know that I have already moved on from you.

I feel nothing for you but disdain, and after this moment in our lives is completed I will, and Rosa will, never think of you, your wolf, or this pack ever again. You are nothing to us.”
“I’m your Mate, you’ll always know that,” he grated out between clenched teeth. “You’ll never be able to forget it, my venom runs in your veins.”
“As does mine in yours,” she smiled at him nastily. “Forever it will remain in you. I hope you enjoy remembering that it was you who were the one to ruin everything between us. Accept it or don’t,” she stated simply, and turned and walked away from him across the stage to where her parents
were standing waiting, by Luna Nelly and her women.
“I will never accept it. I’ll find a way to bring you back, Nora. I will show you I love you and only want you if it takes all my long life,” he told her.
She turned and looked at him from the top of the stage stairs. He had a hand to his chest, his
fingers kind of digging into himself, and she knew it was because of the pain of them being severed. “Then I hope you enjoy it, when I let another claim me for themselves. You’ll likely die
when this happens. I hear it’s painfully agonizingly slow. A fitting ending, it will be for one that
doesn’t know how to treat a Mate right, gifted or chosen.”
He snarled at her now, “Are you so very cruel that you would do that to me willingly.”
“I learned from the best,” she half smiled “you and.” Her eyes moved to Gloria’s lifeless body. “Her,
how to be cruel. You have no one to blame but yourself, for me leaving you.”
He was glaring at her with anger now, and she knew he was debating with himself as to whether it was wise to stay attached to her. He didn’t know if she would do as she’d just stated, but she likely
would. She’d issued her rejection, and was not bound to him any more as far as she was
concerned.
She saw Alpha Clayton pull that mating alliance from his jacket and hold it out to Jace. “You
pledged to never bring harm to Nora in your mating alliance, but from all I just heard, I now see all
you’ve done is harm her. If you do not willingly accept her rejection, I will hold you down along with
my unit, and we will force it from you. All four of us will roll our auras at you, all together until you
utter an acceptance against your will.
“If you attempt to stop myself or Nora’s family from removing her from this pack, you’ll find
yourself at war. I have three allied packs as well as my own at the ready to invade this pack, 800 warriors and three Alphas and their units, each of them with one of my own war generals.
“All within mind–linking range, so they will all know to come in and kill you and your unit, and all their mates, the Luna’s unit for the blatant disrespect and utter cruelty all of you have shown to Nora. The she–wolf our Goddess, Selena, had gifted to you as your Mate and Luna, but now I and everyone here understand she was never to be.
“That you claimed her for your own selfish needs, and should never have in the first place, you

Alpha Jace Remmington are not worthy in my eyes or those of my allies, that have come here with me to protect Luna Nora, from you, her Alpha Mate. Accept the rejection or die and see your pack destroyed and disbanded.”
Nora had not expected that to come from Alpha Clayton, and she could see that neither had Jace,
and there were fearful words running through the pack members here in the ballroom already
about were they going to be attacked.
She saw Jace look at his pack members. It wasn’t so small and his actions towards her now were
putting them all in danger. She knew he would be looking for his allied Alphas in this very room,
and she herself moved her eyes to them. They all had their Lunas here with them, their own Mates
were now in danger.
She saw Alpha Desmond take his Luna’s hand. “I will not defend you after all I have heard, I will not
put my Luna at risk of harm for one who did not want his Goddess–Gifted and kept a mistress.” And
he was striding from the ballroom, she saw all his allied Alphas do the same they were all
outnumbered, and they knew it, none of them had come with warriors, it was a Luna Ceremony not
a battle. Two of them hadn’t even brought their units.
She walked down the stairs finally, and stepped to her parents, “Nora.” She heard Jace’s voice call
