Revenge served in a black dress (Nora and Jace) novel Chapter 87

CH 87

Nora

She sat in the back seat of her own car with her mother as her father drove her away from that pack, and she saw him pull out into the middle of the pack road after Alpha Clayton’s car, and that his Gamma was driving her parentscar and their Delta, the last car in the fleet, a full formal escort

from the Dark Wilderness Pack.

She sighed as they crossed out of the open gates, and she voiced with sound resolve, I reject the

Dark Wilderness Pack as my pack, and Alpha Jace Remmington as my Alpha. I am a rogue now,

severing all her ties to the man that had been her Mate and all things that were his, and she felt the

snap of the pack tether to him. No longer was she bound to him in any way at all.

Nora heard a massive howl of pain coming from inside that pack, and she knew it was Hydro,

having felt her sever the last of their ties to him and his wolfen pack. Maybe they hadn’t thought

that she was going to do that, seeing as she hadn’t done it in the ballroom for him to see. Perhaps

it had given him some semblance of hope, where there was none to be had.

Her mother hugged her and told her everything was going to be alright. Nora just nodded. She

knew it was going to be. She wasn’t even upset, she’d shed all the tears she was ever going to over

that man inside that pack. There was nothing left inside of her that was even remotely attached to

him or his beast.

Rosa?

I’m alright, we’re free of him and that shewolf is now dead too.’

You’ll not leave me again?Nora asked her.

No, we’re strong and even if we have to see him in the future, he matters not to us anymore. I will stand with you and decline whatever he has to say. His vow means nothing to me.

I’ll find a way for us to never have to ever think about him ever again, Rosa. She promised her wolf.

Mother, did you know about Alpha Clayton bringing his allies?

No, he told us nothing of his plans, only that he would arrive on the day we did just a bit after we

did. That is all we knew.

He stated he would make plans to make sure Jace accepted your rejection, but did not include us in them, like you kept everything close to his chest, so nothing could be found out by Jace himself.

Did he actually bring his allies, or was it just a threat?she asked as they turned onto the main

road into the human world.

See for yourself,” her father stated. Look out the window.

She turned her eyes to the woods beyond the window and there she saw many hundreds of glowing wolfen eyes all watching them leave in their convoy of cars. She watched as a massive black wolf with one green eye and one blue stepped out into the moon light and looked right at her,

bowed its head to her and as she bowed hers back, as she realized that it was Alpha Clayton’s

father’s wolf, Samba, who was now one of the pack’s war generals.

Those wolves continued to line the sides of the road that led away from the Dark Wilderness Pack,

and she knew why. Clayton had stated if Jace tried to stop her from leaving, they’d attack him and

his pack. This was her wolfen guard to make sure she was allowed to leave that place. It went all

the way until she was out on the highway, and they were picking up speed and truly leaving that

pack behind.

I’m so very proud of you, Nora,” her father told her. I think you did everything right, not only telling

him what an asshole he was but also telling his pack and his allies the truth of who he was as well.

That was the plan.She nodded.

I think he will lose some of his allies over this as well,” her mother stated. No more will he have

one of the strongest packs in Kansas.

She didn’t much care to hear any of it, but nodded and smiled at her mother. You don’t need to tell

me things like this, I’ve moved on. I will feel the pain of our mate bond being severed for a few

weeks or months even, but that is nothing for our kind. We live very long lives and, honestly, I’m happy to finally be gone from there.”

I’m just thinking out loud of all the consequences for thather mother sighed. I don’t want to call him an Alpha because he didn’t behave like one at all.

Just forget him mother, let’s all pretend it was just a bad dream that I had, and nothing more, she told her. It was how she was going to think of it. Come Friday my life will be completely back to normal, and I’ll be starting my new and improved life. Rosa is back with me all the time and that is

all I want for myself for the moment.

Her mother nodded. Then no more will we mention him or that pack.

Good,” was her only answer.

They drove nonstop to her home pack in Texas just north of Amarillo, on the western side of the Lake Meredith national park recreational area. It was just after one in the morning and her father pulled up out the front of the packhouse instead of driving them to their house. Alpha Clayton wants to see you before you come on home. He’d looked at her mother asleep in the backseat. You go and do that and come to the house when it’s over. I’ll take your mother home and put her to bed. She’s not slept well for many nights. He smiled at her, and she nodded and got out of the car.

Nora got out of the car and stretched. It was good to be home, and she saw Alpha Clayton look at her smile. I just want to initiate you back into the pack, Nora.He told her, Best do it right away,

your father let me know you severed yourself from Dark Wilderness already.

I did, the moment we left the territory. She told him, and walked herself into the packhouse. She found Luna Nelly slipping her hand into the crook of her arm. So very strong to put up with all you

did.

Others have suffered much worse than I have. She stated, My own cousin, in fact. My pain was nothing compared to hers. That’s what I told myself, and I know it to be true.

Nelly nodded She’s having fewer nightmares. It’s been reported that she’s doing well over in Obsidian, as are the others. Hopefully they’ll all come home soon and be able to lead normal lives

once more.

She was walked into Alpha Clayton’s office and right to his desk where she held her hand out for him to initiate her back into the pack. Welcome home Nora Hammond.Alpha Clayton smiled at her after she’d pledged loyalty to him and his pack, Go on home and get some sleep where you know it will be peaceful. She nodded and bowed to both of them.

Thank you for assisting me in leaving and protecting my exit. I truly am grateful for that. I wasn’t expecting what you did.

It was needed. I didn’t see him letting you go. Not many Alphas will accept a rejection, issue one yes but be rejected. It hurts their pride and squashes their ego and, after all this time of you being there, he thought he was going to get to keep you. Win you over.

He should never have claimed me in the first place,” Nora nodded. Again, thank you. I hope everyone gets home safely.

She left the packhouse and walked from it to her home on the other side of the pack. It was a nice

night. She passed the Gamma, Billy, and he smiled at her as he walked towards her. If you need a

real Gamma to help you, just let me know,” he tilted his head slightly. But I have a feeling you won’t.

Rosa and I are good. She smiled at him. But thank you,she stated, and moved on to her home.

She let herself in and found the house quiet. Her father popped out of his bedroom and she

mindlinked to him, Go back to bed, I’m good, and I’m going to sleep soundly, well into the

morning

That was her intent as well. She watched him nod, and then he just hugged her for a long moment,

kissed her temple and returned to his room after bidding her good night. She walked into her
