Chapter 104 That’s Not What It Looks Like
She spotted Abigail fiddling with her phone..
“Abigail, hurry up!”
As Becky called out. Abigail nearly flung her phone into the air.
Becky frowned slightly but didn’t think much of it. She turned back and kept eating her ice cream.

The old town was big, and they wandered around, stopping here and there. Every time Becky saw something tasty, she sent Sharon off to buy it.
This is the 200 dollars I got from the film crew. Take it
She pulled out two crisp 100 dollars bills.
This girl just wouldn’t quit.
Still, Sharon took the cash and walked off to the snack stall.
After a while, she grumbled, “Not a single cute guy around. Boring
“There are two right there.”
Becky pointed to two men standing with their backs to them not far off.
“Even their backs are hot. Go on, reel ‘em in.”
Sharon’s eyes lit up and she lifted a foot to step forward–just as the two guys turned around.
Her lifted foot slowly retreated.
Becky had a sausage in her mouth, fresh off the grill and burning hot. She bared her teeth trying to eat around the heat.
Secing Sharon’s ghost–struck expression, she turned to look-
And nearly bit her own tongue.
Oh hell no. Wasn’t that Xavier? What the hell was he doing here?
Today, Xavier and Brendon were dressed more casually than usual. The rigid, cool vibe was gone–replaced by something more easygoing and sunny
They were walking straight toward them.
Abigail shrank back guiltily
Xavier stopped right in front of Becky, plucked the sausage out of her mouth, and took a bite.
It was greasy–he frowned.
“What a coincidence. You’re here too.”
Brendon rolled his eyes.
Comedence, my ass
An hour ago Xavier had messaged Abigail and found out Becky was at the old town. That’s why they it shown up
Brendon happened to be with lùm, so he tagged along.
Coincidence or not, Becky didn’t know But her sausage had been buiten.

Chapter 10t That’s Not What It Looks Like
Face flushing, she refused to look at Xavier.
They’d once shared a popsicle, used the same fork, even eaten from the same cake slice.
But back then, she hadn’t liked Xavier. He hadn’t liked her either. She just saw him as James’s dad–or at most, a friend.
There was no pressure, Around Xavier, she felt free.
But then he kissed her.
Now their relationship wasn’t so straightforward anymore, and she didn’t know how to deal with him.
It wasn’t that she was being dramatic,
Honestly, the one who’d liked Xavier all along was the original Becky. She was also the one who’d done all those things.
Becky thought Xavier didn’t like her. She figured they could just be peaceful co–parents.
Now everything was a mess.
Xavier looked down at the girl’s shy face and smirked.
“What else do you want to eat? I’ll get it for you.”
“I can buy it myself, she muttered without looking up.
Rebuffed, Xavier didn’t seem discouraged. There’s a pastry shop ahead. It’s an old place–supposed to be pretty good. Let’s check it out”
Becky knew that shop too. She’d seen it while researching the old town last night. They said if you that place, your trip didn’t count.
She grabbed Sharon’s arm and walked ahead, keeping a distance from Xavier.
Sharon’s eyes sparkled with gossip. “What’s up with Xavier? Is he trying to chase you?”
He literally ate the sausage that had been in Becky’s mouth. If that wasn’t flirty, what was?
“I don’t know,” Becky said honestly.
“You don’t know? I’ve seen the way he looks at you–he’s totally into you.”
Becky paused, then still replied, “I don’t know.”
Xavier had just been cheated on by Yulia. Maybe he was emotionally wrecked and messing around
Tm telling you, he’s trying to woo you. His eyes totally give it away.”
“What do you mean, give it away?”
ne here and didn’t try
Then I’d better stay far away”
ut Xavier now! Do you like him?”
“Becky, be real with me. How do o you feel about
“Of course not! I don’t like fam?”
But you used to like him so much”
“That that was in the past?
Sharon studied her for a moment. “Becky, did he hurt you so badly before that you’ve just buried your feelings for him?”
“No I really don’t like lum

“Can someone just stop liking someone that easily?”
“For me, yeah. It’s that easy.
Sharon tilted her head, thinking.
She’d only been in one relationship–back in college. A totally innocent, playful kind of romance.
It lasted just two weeks. It was long–distance. They were high school classmates who reconnected at a class reunion and decided to give it a shot.
Two weeks after they got back to school, her first boyfriend called and dumped her.
She was pissed. Cursed him out hard and hung up.
And that was that
There were no deep feelings. The breakup didn’t hurt. She just felt played.
She figured he’d met someone else.
Her pride kept her from confirming it, though. Whatever–just a guy. Breakups weren’t a big deal. She didn’t need him
anyway.
