Chapter 163 The Return Banquet
Becky walked over, blushing.
Julia looked at her warmly. “My Lily is so beautiful!”
Becky smiled. “I take after you, Mom. Of course I’m pretty,”
“Yes, yes, you really do look like me when I was young.”
Abigail brought James over.
James was all dressed up today, looking like a tiny little prince–adorable as ever.
The banquet was held right at the Half–Mountain Estate.
Servants were rushing back and forth, busy preparing everything.
Wayne had also brought in extra staff from outside, and even hired six–star hotel chefs and pastry artists to cater.
At the entrance of the estate, luxury cars were pouring in one after another.
By eleven o’clock, the garden was packed with guests.
Becky stood by a second–floor window, looking down at the crowd filling the garden below.
A servant came over and draped a shawl over her shoulders.
“Miss. Mr. Janus and Madam Julia asked you to come down.”
“Okay.”
Becky followed the servant downstairs.
Julia’s leg wasn’t fully healed yet, so she was still in a wheelchair.
Finished
But she was dressed up elegantly, graceful and poised. Thanks to the herbal medicine she’d been drinking, her complexion looked much better too.
She took Becky’s hand. “Lily, let’s go out.
Becky nodded.
The Shanks family made their grand appearance together. All the guests turned to look at once.
Their eyes were full of amazement.
Every member of the Shanks family had movie–star looks, and seeing them together was like looking at a live magazine spread–just standing there, they were stunning
But today’s spotlight was on the Shanks family’s long–lost daughter, Becky. All eyes settled on her.
Especially the young, unmarried men present–each one eager to make a connection.
Even putting aside her background, that face of hers alone was enough to stop hearts.
Janus stepped forward and introduced her. “Hello, everyone. Thank you all for coming to celebrate our daughter’s homecoming banquet.”
He took Becky’s hand, and his eyes reddened with emotion.
Becky was moved ton
She never did well with these kinds of public scenes.
Wayne patted their father’s back and smoothly took over the mic to say a few words, officially kicking off the banquet

Becky let out a breath of relict
⠀ Finished
After that, Julia brought her around to meet the ladies. She hadn’t even finished meeting them all when Janus pulled her off to meet a bunch of men too.
Becky felt like a robot, smiling and greeting person after person.
By the end of it, she was exhausted.
She found a chair, grabbed a plate of pastries and a glass of juice, and sat down to eat..
Food really did bring happiness.
Just as she was enjoying herself, a man holding a glass of champagne walked over.
He had just stopped in front of her and was about to speak when Becky suddenly stood up, didn’t even look at him, and slipped past him with a bright, excited smile on her face.
She ran straight up to Samson
“Samson!”
Samson was dressed quite formally today–black shirt, suit jacket, and even a tie.
Seeing Becky, he smiled.
“Hello, little princess! We meet again.”
Becky shyly cupped her cheeks. “Hi!”
Samson said, “You look beautiful today.”
Becky replied. “Thanks! Samson, you look really handsome too!”
Samson blinked.
Then he burst out laughing.
The man who had tried to greet Becky earlier scowled.
Just then, a few young heirs wandered over.
One of them said sourly, “Grew up outside, vision must be limited.”
“Seriously. All of us young elites are standing right here, and she’s all over Samson.”
“Exactly. He’s just a singer. How does that compare to us?”
A chilly voice suddenly cut in behind them. “Who’s got limited vision? And who are you calling a singer like it’s a bad thing?”
The group turned around and froze when they saw Logan.
He was holding a glass of red wine, gently swirling the dark liquid, eyes sharp as knives
“By your logic. I’m an actor–so I must be some second–rate clown too?”
They all shook their heads mmediately
“No no! Of course not! That’s not what we meant!”
Lagan shot them a cold look

The group went silent, heads down, not daring to speak.
Logan turned and walked toward Becky and Samson.
The two of them were laughing loudly about something
Logan stepped up and gave Samson a once–over. “Who said you could come?”
Before Samson could answer. Becky cut in, “Me! Logan, I invited Samson. Be nice.”
Logan froze.
Samson raised an eyebrow at him with a smirk. “Lily invited me.”
Logan munered. “You actually showed up just because she asked? Shameless”
“Logan!”
Becky didn’t like the way Logan was talking to her idol.
Samson, on the other hand, didn’t seem bothered.
“It’s fine. I’m used to it.”
Becky apologized, “Sorry, Samson. Logan’s just immature. Don’t take it personally.”
“I won’t.”
Samson said with a glance at Logan, who snorted and looked away.
