Chapter 166 All Eyes on Them
These days, who doesn’t have WhatsApp? Even elementary schoolers do.
Still, she didn’t want to give up. “Winston, a phone number works too. I’ll just take your number.”
Winston replied, “Too many spam calls lately. I threw out my SIM card. I don’t use a phone anymore.”
The girl named Nancy was speechless.
So were the onlookers.
What a terrible excuse. Winston didn’t even bother coming up with something believable.
Nancy’s face turned bright red as she walked away. Staying any longer would just crush her pride.
Winston let out a sigh and slumped against Lyle’s shoulder.
“Lyle, what’s going on? Are we extra handsome today or something?”
Lyle frowned. “When are we not?”
Winston had no comeback for that
Becky, who knew what was really going on, stuck out her tongue.
Xavier didn’t care about anyone else’s failed love life. His eyes never left Becky. Wherever she went, he followed.

People at the banquet started whispering. A tall, handsome man holding a baby was glued to the Shanks family’s young lady. and no one knew what the deal was
“He’s so handsome! But I’ve never seen him before. Whose son is he?”
“No idea. First time I’ve seen him. Maybe he’s not from Circovia”
“What’s his relationship with the Shanks girl? Why is he following her?”
“Isn’t it obvious? He’s trying to win her over
“Why’s he carrying a baby while chasing her?”
“That kid looks like the Shanks family’s oldest son’s child.”
“The third one, right?)
“Yeah
“So that guy’s using the kid to get close to her?”
“Looks like it”
“Bold strategy
Becky turned and glared at Xavier “Why are you following me?”
Xavier had a perfectly valid excuse. “You’re the only one I know here. I just want to stick with you.”
Becky glanced around. Dozens of eyes were on them.
She warned him. “Stop following me. Everyone’s staring”
Let them stare. It’s not like we’re doing anything shady”
Becky had no words. He was impossible.
Julia meanwhile, was surrounded by a group of elegant women

Because of her health, she rarely appeared at public events in recent years. Now that she had shown up, the Circovian socialites cagerly came over to chat and build connections.
“Julia, you look amazing. Better than I do.”
Julia couldn’t help but show off her daughter. “It’s all thanks to Lily”
“I get it. Your daughter came home, and your health improved.”
“That’s part of it. My Lily’s a doctor. She’s been treating me. It’s only been a few days, and I already feel much better”
“A doctor?”
“She really has that skill
Julia nodded with a smile.
The women were surprised.
“Wow, I didn’t know Ms. Becky had such talent. That’s impressive!”
“Do you think she’d be willing to help me? I haven’t been feeling well lately. I’ve been meaning to see someone”
“Me too! I’ve had these terrible headaches.”
“Same here. My body’s all out of whack, and I haven’t been sleeping Maybe she could help me too.”
Several ladies spoke up at once.
Julia began to regret mentioning her daughter’s medical skills. She didn’t want Becky getting overworked
“My Lily just came home. She doesn’t have time to take appointments right now. Maybe in the future.”
The women nodded, understanding. They weren’t really desperate for treatment–just trying to get closer to the Shanks family’s daughter.
After chatting with the women for a while, Julia turned to her maid, Valentine. “Where’s Lily?”
“There.” Valentine said, pointing nearby.
Julia looked up and saw Becky by the dessert table–being followed by a man carrying her grandson.
She frowned. “Who’s that?”
Valentine shook her head.
“Take me over there,” Julia said.
Valentine pushed her toward Becky
Becky was at the dessert table loading up on treats when Julia called out, “Lily”
Becky turned around her face lighting up. “Mom!”
Julia smiled briefly before turning her gaze on Xavier. He nodded politely. “Hello”
Julia was older than Lilian, and her eyes were sharp as she studied him.
She already had a good guess who he was
This had to be the man who’d hurt her daughter
“Xavier night”
He answered politely. “I am”

Sensing things were about to get tense, Becky quickly jumped in. “Mom, do you want something to eat? I’ll get it for you.”
Julia finally tore her eyes away from Xavier and smiled at her daughter. “Get me a slice of cake.”
“Okay, Mom.”
