Vincent had barely set foot inside when a glass came hurtling his way, shattering against his forehead. His mother stood across the room, eyes blazing.

“You didn’t even bother to pick up your sister from prison? Where the hell were you?” she snapped. “You think you’re grown now, is that it? You don’t listen to your father anymore? What are you doing with those company shares? Hand them over—right now! And the money your father told you to transfer, you send it to the overseas account immediately, do you hear me? Are you trying to kill us?”

Vincent stared at her, his gaze deep and unreadable.

He used to believe all mothers loved their sons, but now he saw the truth.

“Vincent! Are you listening to me?” she demanded.

He said nothing.

Just then, Stephen Lawson entered, Mira clinging to his arm, red-eyed and sniffling.

He smiled coolly. “Not a chance.”

Stephen stared at him, shocked and furious, nearly losing his balance. “You—you—Vincent, aren’t you afraid I’ll take it out on your mother? That I’ll divorce her?”

Vincent’s mother burst into tears. “Vincent, are you trying to destroy your own mother?”

“She’s your wife. Whether you stay together or split up is between the two of you. Did you think I was still that same obedient son, always at your mercy?” Vincent stepped closer to Stephen, smiling. “Dad, times have changed. Lawson & Co. belongs to me now.”

Stephen trembled with rage.

Just then, his phone rang. He answered, and Mayfield’s panicked voice came through: “Dad! Vincent’s already replaced all the top executives at Lawson & Co. with his people! He’s been planning this for years. HR just called—I’ve been fired! Dad, what do we do?”

Stephen looked up at Vincent, shocked beyond words. He finally realized—Vincent was going to wipe out every one of his illegitimate brothers.
