Chapter 183 Enjoy It Yourself

A person without any papers who got stuck in another country probably wasn’t going to have an easy time. Sterling even sent someone to look after Tyson.
As for Henry, Paula had never cared much about him anyway, so keeping his life was already more than enough.
He’d spend whatever time he had left as a vegetable, stuck in bed with lazy caretakers barely bothering to look after him.
Paula was crushed by despair.
Sterling was like a cold–blooded ruler, punishing everyone close to her for her mistakes.
And she had no fight left in her.
No matter how often she cursed them, no matter how badly she wanted them dead, she couldn’t handle the thought of dragging her family down to hell with her.
Paula dropped to her knees, put down her forehead to the floor again and again.
“Sterling, please spare them! I was wrong. I never should’ve treated Isabella that way. I never should’ve hurt you. And I should’ve never plotted against Claudia. It was all me–my greed, my jealousy, my selfishness. It’s all my fault. Just let them go.”
“You’re right, Aunt Paula. Every mistake is yours to own.”
Sterling pressed his palm, as if remembering the touch of Claudia’s lips there.
“I heard you had a gift ready for Claudia tonight. Perfect. Saves me the trouble of picking one out. Since you went through the effort, why don’t you enjoy it yourself?”

The man who had caused all the chaos walked off without a care and headed back to his room, eager and expectant.
But the second Sterling opened the door, his expression shifted. The bed was empty. She was

gone. He suddenly looked cold and angry, like a storm about to start.
“Where is she?”

A nervous guard led him toward the bamboo garden’s side building.
The place that normally felt dark and oppressive was now glowing with light.
Several people waited at the door, greeting him, “Mr. Sterling, Ms. Lancaster is inside.”
He nodded, paused just long enough to glance in, and then pushed the door open.
The big house was empty except for Claudia, busying herself in the middle of it all.
She’d finally finished bathing, only to get filthy again.
Every animal corpse had been carefully collected, stacked neatly along a wall, and covered with a sheet.
Now, she was on a ladder, hammering the wall with a small mallet.
After the photo frame fell, Claudia climbed down from the ladder. Breathing hard, she hauled a huge photo nearly as tall as herself into the center of the living room, stacking it with the others.
She felt a draft rush in through the door, wiped the sweat off her forehead, and spun around.
“You’re here!”
