Chapter 220 No Conincidence
Right now, only one thought echoed in his head. I’m finished.
Finished
Amelia, the quick–thinking employee, was the first to react. She smiled smoothly and said, “Of course, Ms. Lancaster. Don’t worry. Our team will take over the event. Everything will go on as planned. Also, Mr. Romero prepared a special batch of wine for
your
classmates.”
At that moment, servers walked in carrying bottles of rare, insanely expensive vintage wine.
The speed was so fast that no one could doubt that the hotel had never actually planned to kick the guests out in the first place.
Amelia added with another polite smile, “To make everyone more comfortable, the hotel will upgrade the menu and open a few private scenic lounges for you. We hope you all have a wonderful time.”
The service was exceptional.
Seeing that Claudia had approved Amelia’s handling of things, the classmates quickly ignored Maverick, who was still lying on the floor, and rushed to thank her instead.
“Thanks, Claudia. This is the first time I’ve ever seen wine this good,” one male classmate said, staring at the red wine in awe.
“Yeah! I’ve been wanting to come to Serenity Peaks Resort forever, but I couldn’t get a booking for months. Who would’ve thought the big boss here is our classmate?”
“Claudia, come hang out with us! Do you like playing cards?”
Everyone started chatting, and the atmosphere quickly became lively again–actually even more upbeat than before.
The only person removed from the class reunion was Maverick.
He was forced to leave in clothes soaked with juice and wine, humiliated under everyone’s eyes.
But the worst part hadn’t even started. Just as he called his driver, he heard a hesitant voice on the other end. “Uh… Mr. Maverick, one of the tires blew out.”
Maverick went silent.
He was sure this was no coincidence.

Chapter 220 No Conincidence
He clenched his teeth in fury, feeling utterly helpless.
Finished
The hotel wasn’t going to lend him a car. If he wanted one sent up from town, it would take time, and right now, he couldn’t stand staying here another minute.
He thought for a second, then called the friends he had personally invited to the party.
You guys were planning to stay the night, right? Lend me your car.”
But on the other end, each of them stammered and made excuses.
He tried several calls but couldn’t borrow a single car.
He had just offended Claudia. Of course, no one dared to get involved. They were already doing him a favor by not cutting ties with him immediately.
In less than 30 minutes, Maverick had gone from being a self–styled hero for Lydia to being completely ruined. He got a crash course in how fast relationships can change.
Burning with anger, he smashed his phone against the ground. But that didn’t feel like enough, so he grabbed his driver’s phone and smashed that too.
The driver said nothing.
Now they couldn’t even call for help.
Ten minutes after his tantrum, Maverick finally realized what he’d done. But before he could throw another fit, the hotel’s head of security walked over with a smile.
“Sir, this is a public area of the hotel. Non–guests must leave immediately.”
Maverick glared at him. “Stop rushing me! There are no cars! How am I supposed to get down the mountain?”
