Right now, all Jasper wanted was a place where no one could find him. Somewhere completely silent, where no one could gossip about him.

Except for a few maids he passed on the way, he made it up to the rooftop without any trouble.

As always, the rooftop was deserted. There were no locks, no railings, just empty open space.

He sat right on the edge, his legs dangling off the side, his hands braced on either side to steady himself.

Up here, with nothing between him and the sky, it felt like he was the only person left in the world.

There was no barriers and no railings. The wind blew hard, giving him the strange feeling he could be swept away at any moment.

When he came here with Claudia, he always felt light, happy, and free.

But sitting here alone, all he could feel was endless loneliness and emptiness.

It looked like she could be swept away at any moment.

He wanted to yell at her to move away, but the image vanished in a heartbeat.

Jasper dropped to his knees, clutching his chest, and pressed his forehead to the cold floor.

His eyes were bloodshot, tears spilling out as his laughter shifted from self–mockery to utter regret.
