If someone actually died today, Mandy’s spotless reputation would go straight down the drain!
A few more splashes followed, and the emergency staff on the yacht dove into the sea one after another.
The guests attending these two–day events were all wealthy heirs and socialites. If anything were to happen, everyone involved would be held accountable.
In no time, the deck was in total chaos–splashing, shouting, lifeboats being lowered, and panicked screams echoing everywhere.
A few fishermen nearby exchanged glances and quietly packed up their rods.
With so many people in the water, every fish had probably fled by now. Their only fear was accidentally hooking a person instead of a fish.
Nope, this kind of chaos was not worth getting involved in.
At the center of all this drama, Sterling and Claudia looked at each other. Claudia’s face twisted with disbelief. “That wasn’t me who pushed them, right?”
Sterling smirked, brushing her hair affectionately. “Of course not. They’re just idiots.”
Claudia stayed silent.
Honestly, the way those two fell into the sea looked so perfectly timed, even she started doubting herself.
Five minutes earlier.
Claudia had taken Sterling’s hand and led him to where Lydia and Jasper were standing together.
Since Lydia had been running her mouth, Claudia immediately called them both out, then made it clear that Sterling was the only one she liked. They should really stop spinning stories in their heads.
Lydia was dumbfounded.
Wait, she had not said anything that extreme!
Sure, she had wanted to stir things up a bit, maybe plant a little doubt in Sterling’s mind about

whether Claudia still had feelings for Jasper.
But she had barely started before Sterling shot her down on the spot.
Was she crazy enough to openly claim Sterling was not as good as Jasper right in front of Sterling himself? Did she have a death wish?
Then she glanced at Sterling, who looked calm as ever, clearly enjoying his girlfriend’s public declaration of love.
So much for “first love” Jasper–he could not even compete with a single strand of Sterling’s hair in Claudia’s heart.
Lydia was caught completely off guard. Wait, was I just an unwilling extra in their drama?
But before she could explain, Jasper–who had been scolded right alongside her and stung by Claudia’s blatant bias toward Sterling–lost his temper first.
He shook Lydia’s hand off. “I don’t think there’s anything left for us to talk about.”
Lydia panicked.
She had come to see Jasper because Preston’s birthday was coming up, and since they were already at sea, she used that as an excuse to invite Jasper to dinner to remember him together.
Jasper had almost agreed, his emotions clearly stirred.
Then, out of nowhere, Claudia and Sterling showed up and ruined everything.
Frustrated and desperate, Lydia burst into tears, ran to the railing, and threatened to jump in to join Preston.
Predictably, Jasper rushed over to stop her.
Unfortunately, the railing on that side was unusually low. Lydia tripped, lost her balance, and actually fell overboard.
Jasper instinctively reached for her, but he forgot that his right hand had been injured at Serenity Peaks and could not handle any weight.
So the two of them ended up tumbling into the sea together in perfect melodramatic synchronization.
Even Claudia, who had come to confront them, was completely speechless.
