Honestly, Claudia was having a great time.

Sterling, however, had been busy and was nowhere to be seen ever since they got off the yacht.
Two days later, when the weekend rolled around, Sterling finally had some free time to stay home with Claudia–only for an unexpected guest to show up.
Quinton was completely stunned when he saw Sterling, who used to be so cold and untouchable, now sitting on the floor playing a silly spinning–top game with Claudia and their dog.
Even the housekeeper pushing his wheelchair almost slipped out of shock.
Who would have thought that the icy, intimidating third son was secretly spending his weekends playing kiddie games with his fiancée?
Quinton snuck a glance at Claudia, who was glaring at him defensively.
Was his son raising a wife or a daughter?
The sight hit Quinton harder than he expected. In his memory, Sterling had never looked this relaxed, this carefree.
As a child, Sterling had been withdrawn and gloomy. After moving in with his grandfather at ten, he became distant, and as an adult, he turned ruthless–cold enough to fight his own father like an enemy.
But now, this scene of harmony–two people and a dog–it almost hurts to look at.
Had their family ever been this happy?
Quinton’s hand tightened around the armrest of his wheelchair.
Sterling looked at him calmly. “What brings you here, Mr. Quinton?”
Quinton dismissed the housekeeper and hesitated for a moment. He had come prepared to argue, but seeing Sterling’s face now made the words stick in his throat.
Still, he took a breath and said, “If you hate me and Winnie, take it out on us. Just let Kamila go. She’s still young and doesn’t understand things.”
His tone carried a trace of pleading.

After the yacht party, Kamila had been sent home, but the girl who returned was terrified of everything.
She had screamed at the sight of people and refused to speak, curling up alone in her room. The doctors said she was not hurt physically, but something had scared her badly,
No matter what the Lloyds tried, she would not open her mouth.
No one knew what she had seen, and without knowing the cause, the doctors could not treat her.
Then, Kamila’s mother mentioned that she had gone to the yacht party looking for Sterling.
So the Lloyds concluded that Kamila’s trauma must have something to do with him, and they asked Quinton to talk to him.
Isabella was dead, and Winnie had lost her ability to have children. After all these years, he had not had the heart–or the desire–to be with any other woman or have more kids.
His only son hated him.
Kamila was Winnie’s niece, and Winnie had always treated her like a daughter. Kamila, in return, adored her aunt–and because of that, even Quinton, her uncle by marriage, had grown fond of the sweet, affectionate girl who often acted like the child they never had.
So when he saw her now, broken and delirious, he could not help but feel a pang of pity.
He did not know what had happened, but he was sure Sterling was acting out of the grudges from the past.
