On Sterling and Claudia’s wedding day, all of Liberty City was buzzing. Luxury cars nearly packed the hotel to bursting.
The venue was stunning. Without a father to walk her down the aisle, Claudia made the walk alone to Sterling.
Celine, who was both a friend to the groom and a teacher to the bride, went up on stage to speak for both families.
The couple exchanged rings with bright smiles and kissed each other passionately in front of everyone. Whitney sat in the audience, bawling her eyes out.
Beside her, Mandy broke into a huge toothy grin, flustered as she scrambled to get Whitney some tissues.
Sally was sitting with Alice, the leading actress in her new film. The two of them watched, slack–jawed, as their investor, Whitney, cried her eyes out. Throughout the wedding, they snapped photos nonstop and played their part as the hype crew, cheering the newlyweds on as their kiss just kept going and going.
Frederick, who had flown in from Loscoqua, sat with the rest of the Romeros. He looked at the chaotic but warm scene, his eyes crinkling as he smiled and applauded.
His butterfly had found the perfect place to land, and it would always be free and radiant.
Outside the joyful wedding venue, it was eerily quiet.
Wilson, Lottie, Clarence, and Zane watched Claudia come and go from a distance, standing silently until the wedding ended.
They hadn’t been invited to the wedding, and they didn’t have the nerve to show up anyway. All they could do was watch her wedding from afar.
In just a short time, Wilson and Lottie both seemed to have aged a decade.
After Lydia went to prison, they managed to get back some of the money she made selling off the patents, but it was nowhere near enough to cover all their debts.
The family of four woke up every day to more money problems.

They were used to living in a big mansion, but now they were crammed into an old, shabby three–bedroom apartment. The small space only made their arguments worse, and fights broke out all the time.
Clarence and Zane had fought each other more than once.
Their spoiled pride had been worn down long ago. Now they were just like regular people, bowing their heads to look for jobs, counting every penny.
All the hardship Claudia went through when she first left home was now coming back to them many times over.
A tear slipped down Lottie’s cheek. She knew she could never make it up to Claudia in this life. If there was another chance, she promised herself she would treat her daughter right.
Sterling’s grand wedding to Claudia didn’t stop the media from covering every detail.
He was happy for the world to witness their vows. For a long time after, this wedding of the century remained the talk of the town.
In a darkened room, Jasper watched his phone, scrolling through the constant stream of wedding blessings for Sterling and Claudia. He took another swig from his bottle.
He’d had the chance to be with her, but he had thrown it away in the worst way possible.
Even now, he was still Lydia’s legal husband.
Sylvia pushed the door open. “I divorced your dad, and I’m leaving the country. Are you coming with me or not?”
The Fenton Group had started to fall apart. There’d been a supply chain problem not long ago, and in the crisis, William ran off with all the money.
The Fentons went bankrupt. With nothing left, Sylvia saw no reason to stay in a marriage with Tybalt that had long since rotted away.
Jasper didn’t answer the question.
Sylvia didn’t try to persuade him. Ever since Jasper had hurt Lydia and Preston at the wedding and spent some time in jail, he had holed up in his little room. Just days ago, he’d landed in the hospital with stomach bleeding from drinking too much.
She set a bank card on the bed. “If you use this money well, you’ll be able to survive. Jasper,

take care of yourself.”
With that, she turned and walked away.
She had given up on this son who never bounced back.
Luckily, Tybalt wasn’t the only one with illegitimate children—she had her own.
Now, she could finally start a new life abroad.
