After speaking with the maid, Tybalt, who had already hidden any sign of worry, walked over with a calm smile and started talking. “Wilson just wants me to make the announcement.”
He leaned toward Wilson and whispered, “Jasper has been found. He’ll be back soon. We just need to stall a little.”
Turning to the guests, he smiled and said, “As you all know, the two kids from our families grew up together and have always had feelings for each other. We want to officially share the good news with everyone. We hope you’ll all witness this special moment.”
His smooth delivery eased everyone, making it seem like Jasper’s disappearance was just part of a planned surprise.
Wilson added a few jokes, and then the staff started a video on the outdoor projector. Sylvia and Lottie helped keep the mood light.
The video had been prepared by Jasper. Since he and Claudia had grown up together, there were plenty of photos and memories–though not much from the past three years.
He had actually planned to propose right after the engagement announcement, timed with the video.
Some guests sighed in disappointment when they realized there was no drama.

A group who knew Jasper, Lydia, and Quade well rolled their eyes. They’d always known Claudia’s so–called breakup was just her playing hard to get.
She was still chasing Jasper and even had a cheesy couple video ready.
She’d started out acting all superior, looking down on everyone, but now her real self was coming through.
Watching Claudia’s calm expression as the screen stayed dark, they believed she was pretending and was thrilled inside.
Some spectators even joked that Claudia marrying Jasper was like a flower in the trash. Of course, Claudia was the trash in their view.
They thought the goddess–like Lydia was a far better match for him.
Maybe their resentment was so strong that the heavens finally answered their prayers,
Suddenly, the screen lit up, and gasps and whispers spread through the crowd.

Those who had ignored Claudia’s love show snapped their heads toward the screen, faces changing instantly.
Both the Lancaster and Fenton families looked grim, not saying a word.

Meanwhile, Claudia caught the pitying glances and couldn’t help letting a faint smirk slip in the dim light.
She’d even started to think Jasper might have bailed.
On the giant screen, the missing groom–to–be, Jasper, was hugging Lydia tightly–the bride–to- be’s elder sister!
They were standing at the back door of the villa, looking perfect together.
Jasper gently patted her head and said, “Don’t be scared. I’ll always be here for you.”
Lydia clung to his waist, pouting. “Say you love me again.”
