Chapter 116 Thanks For The Car, Maybe
She didn’t finish what she was about to say.
“Looks like you’ve got plenty of mens circling around you.”
Marcus reached over and tugged her scarf right off.
Natalie’s heart shot up into her throat again.
“So this is what Victoria used to badmouth you behind your back?”

“What else?” A bitter smile curved across Natalie’s lips. “Mr. Collins hit me hard this morning. I didn’t have time to check carefully before heading straight to the clinic; she caught me red- handed there and ran straight to Jackson with it.”
“And you? How do you plan to get back at her?”
“I don’t.” Natalie’s tone was flat. “Revenge only breeds more revenge. I can barely handle Jackson as it is; I don’t have the time or energy to go after her.”
“Want me to help you?”
He turned his head and met her eyes; his voice dropped low.
ད
“No need.” Natalie immediately changed the subject. “It’s getting late. Mr. Collins, you should head home and get some rest.”
She pushed the car door open to get out, but his hand closed around her wrist. “You’re in my car now. You think I’m just going to let you catch another ride home?”
Natalie froze for a beat, then looked back at him and gave a small nod. “Thank Collins.”
you, Mr.
Marcus didn’t say another word. He rolled the window down and snapped his fingers toward James, who stood a short distance away.
James caught the signal and quickly came over.
“Commuting like this is too inconvenient. You should think about getting a car.”
“I’ve got bigger priorities right now. Once I’ve got some extra money, maybe then.”
Marcus gave a thoughtful nod and didn’t press further.

Natalie threw herself fully into her work, but on Friday evening, she spotted a new car parked outside her house–and next to it stood a man in a sharp suit.
Natalie didn’t recognize him; she had never seen him before. Why was his car parked in front of my house?
She walked up curiously. “Sir, could you move your car? We’ve got kids at home who like to play out front in the evenings. Parking here isn’t very safe.”
“Are you Ms. Foster?”
The man gave her a polite look, a faint smile touching his lips.
Natalie nodded lightly. “Yes, that’s me. And you are?”
“I own a dealership, and I’m a friend of Marcus. He asked me to deliver this car to you. Just send me the paperwork later; I’ll handle the registration myself. You won’t have to lift a finger.”
Natalie froze.
It took her a moment to catch up. Marcus sent me a car?
She blinked at him. “Are you sure? You didn’t make a mistake, it was Marcus?”
“Yes. If you’re Ms. Foster, then there’s no mistake. Marcus asked me to bring it straight here.”
Shock spread through Natalie’s chest.
Her mind flashed back to the conversation they’d had in his car that night.
She had only mentioned, almost offhandedly, that money was tight and she couldn’t afford a car right now–and he had actually gone out and bought her one. Not just that; he’d had it delivered right to her doorstep. The rush of disbelief and astonishment hit her all at once.
“Ms. Foster, here are the keys and the manual. My card’s tucked inside. If you have any questions about the car, you can call me anytime, twenty–four hours a day,”
Her spiraling thoughts were cut off by the dealership owner’s words.
Natalie instinctively waved her hand. “Sorry, I can’t accept this. Call him and tell him to take
the car back.”
The man hesitated, the keys and manual still hovering in midair.
