Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 107

Her heart suddenly sank.

What was Tristan trying to say?

Did he not want to marry her after all?

All the obstacles between them were gone. Why would Tristan hesitate now?

"Tristan, I'm talking to you!" Abbot snapped, impatience clear in his tone.

Tristan took a deep breath. "Grandpa, there's no rush, is there? Luna's about to launch her career—she should focus on that right now."

To Abbot, the entertainment industry was just a playground for attention-seekers.

He grunted in disapproval but didn't press further. The conversation stalled until Stellan finally entered the house.

It was the first time he'd been back since the "official announcement" scandal.

"Stellan, you're home!" Abbot greeted him warmly.

"Yes, Dad. I actually came to speak with my niece."

"You're looking for Zara?" Abbot replied. "She just went out—she's not here."

Stellan shook his head, his sharp gaze finally settling on Luna.

"No, Dad. I want to talk to Luna. Luna, why did you have your high school friend Rosalie smear Sunny's reputation? And why did you have her tell the managing partner at their law firm that Sunny is untrustworthy?"

"You stole her fiancé—how did she end up being the one with bad character, hmm?"

His words cut like glass, leaving Luna speechless.

She looked around in panic, searching for support in her grandfather's and Tristan's eyes, her voice trembling as she tried to explain, "Uncle Stellan, that's not what happened—you've misunderstood me."

"Oh?" Stellan stepped closer, his tone cold and relentless. "Then why don't you explain exactly how I've misunderstood?"

Luna bit her lip, desperate and pitiful. She had no idea how Stellan had found out, or why Rosalie would betray her.

"Uncle Stellan, Sunny's not even family. How can you take an outsider's word over Luna's?"

"An outsider?" Stellan arched an eyebrow.

Tristan faltered under his uncle's stern gaze, the pressure almost tangible. "…Isn't she?"

"What do you think, Dad?" Stellan turned to Abbot.

Abbot sighed, regret heavy in his expression. How had things between his grandchildren—and the younger generation he'd placed all his hopes in—come to this?

"Fire her, Stellan. That's your call."

"And Luna, from now on, stay out of other people's family business. Chloe's never been the most sensible person anyway."

Luna felt a fresh wave of indignation. In the end, even her grandfather was siding with Sunny.

She nodded, eyes red. "I understand, Grandpa."
