Big brother.
It would be even better if she could call him that to his face someday.

The next day, Sunny made her way to VeriTrust Group, where Manager Williams greeted her with an almost theatrical friendliness.
"Attorney Carrington, we received the verdict for our lawsuit yesterday. The court ruled in our favor—we don't have to pay that invoice. Take a look at the decision."
Sunny accepted the court document and flipped to the final page, just as she'd expected.
She smiled, but she knew Manager Williams was lying; that verdict hadn't come through just yesterday.
"Thank you, Manager Williams."
Manager Williams was well aware that Rosalie had been fired—only now did it sink in that she'd seriously underestimated Sunny.
It had all started with some petty obstacles, just to curry favor with the folks from Lawson Corporation.
Who could've predicted Sunny had even bigger connections?
Turns out, her backer was Manager Pierce himself. No one here was foolish enough to cross her again.
"Attorney Carrington, I've reserved a table for lunch at the Moonshadow Lounge. Care to join me?"
Sunny declined with a polite smile. "Thank you, Manager Williams, but I need to get back to the firm. Rain check?"
It wasn't appropriate for her, as a due diligence attorney, to be sharing a meal with them anyway.
Besides, after the show Manager Williams put on yesterday, she could hardly muster a genuine smile.
She could fake it for a few minutes, but pretending through an entire lunch was asking too much.
Sunny spent the rest of her afternoon compiling a detailed due diligence report on VeriTrust Electronics and sent it off to Wyatt. Stretching her arms, she glanced at the clock—it was already six.
She packed her things, ready to call it a day, when a location pinged on her phone from Zara.
Moments later, her best friend called.
"Yes, Miss Lawson. There's another shipment coming in tomorrow. Shall we have them sent over to Lawson Manor for you?"
As a VIP, Zara usually had first pick of the new arrivals, which the store would send directly to her family estate.
She shook her head. "No need, I'll be on a flight tomorrow."
"Sunny, anything catch your eye?"
She'd noticed her friend hadn't bought herself new clothes in ages.
Sunny remembered the promise she'd made to Stellan for the weekend, and started browsing in earnest.
"Miss Carrington, there's a purple gown by the window that would look stunning on you. With your fair skin, it would be perfect."
The saleswoman had a good eye, and led her to the display.
As Sunny examined the dress, she happened to glance up—and caught sight of a couple standing just outside.
Well, speak of the devil. What were the odds they'd run into each other here?
