Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 130

"Wait." The man's voice was cool and low, his eyes unreadable as he glanced over.

"I'm coming with you."

Caleb gave a wry chuckle. "Didn't you say you had plans tonight? Or did your schedule magically clear up as soon as you heard someone else was going?"

Stellan ignored the teasing, letting it roll off his back.

Caleb's curiosity got the better of him; he was dying to know just how far things had gone between these two. "Hey, that news online about the Carringtons' second daughter—was that your doing?"

"All because she pissed off your sweetheart?"

A faint, cold laugh slipped from Stellan's lips. "She pissed me off too."

Did she really think his bed was so easy to climb into?

Barely a few years away, and already people had gotten bold—bold enough to try and seduce him.

But his bed was reserved for only one.

"Tsk, tsk. Boss Lawson, are you actually serious about your nephew's ex?"

Stellan shot him a frosty look. "Mind your words. She's your sister-in-law. Or, if you're counting generations, maybe ‘Auntie' is more appropriate."

"My nephew's bride is Luna—they're getting married next month."

Caleb was floored by how quickly Stellan volleyed back.

"Man, you're ruthless!"

He couldn't wait to see Tristan's face when he found out Stellan was after his ex-girlfriend. This was going to be a show, and Caleb was reserving a front-row seat.

Zara led her friend through the doors of the Japanese restaurant.

Inside, the place was a little oasis: a tiny wooden bridge over a gurgling stream, greenery everywhere, and a courtyard that made them both stop and stare.

They found their reserved private room and slid open the wooden door. Sunny froze in surprise.

"Uncle Stellan?" Zara was just as stunned. "I didn't know you'd be here!"

Sunny accepted the glass, taking a careful sip to soothe her throat. She lowered her gaze and murmured a quiet thank you.

Zara arched a brow, glancing between them, lips twitching as if tempted to comment.

Caleb grinned, teasing, "Wow, Miss Carrington, did our boss Lawson make you this flustered?"

Sunny's fingers tightened around her glass, too startled to look up.

Zara jumped in to save her. "Caleb, maybe she's just scared witless by you."

Caleb huffed. "Hey, little Zara, what makes you think I'm scary?"

Stellan blew gently on his tea, taking a slow sip. "Maybe your looks frightened her."

Caleb: …?

Savage.

Now he'd seen it all—Stellan really would throw his friends under the bus for a pretty face.
