Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 150

"Sure."

After she hung up, a glance at her phone's notifications revealed a trending headline—and suddenly, she understood why Jerry had reached out.

The plagiarism scandal around "Destiny" had exploded to the top of the charts.

If SkyVault Entertainment hadn't pushed the song so aggressively the day before, most people probably wouldn't have even heard of "Destiny"—or its rookie singer. But thanks to all that hype, the public had just gotten familiar enough for the headline to catch their eye.

A well-known music critic in the industry had ruthlessly pointed out the uncanny similarities between "Destiny" and "Fourteen Bridges," even going so far as to accuse "Destiny" of outright plagiarism.

Unfortunately, Luna's name was plastered all over the credits as both lyricist and composer. Overnight, she'd become the lightning rod at the center of the storm.

Sunny couldn't help but wonder—how could a powerhouse like SkyVault be caught flat-footed by a PR crisis? Letting the scandal trend for over two hours seemed almost unthinkable.

In the comments section, the tide of public opinion turned fast. Luna barely had any real fans to defend her, let alone coordinate a response. The onslaught of angry comments grew so overwhelming—over five thousand deep—that eventually the comments had to be shut down.

Finishing up her work, Sunny arrived at the café right on time at eight o'clock.

"Attorney Carrington, you're here."

She nodded politely. "Mr. Lewis, sorry to keep you waiting."

"You're here because of the scandal online, aren't you?"

"So, that music critic—did you ask them to post?"

Jerry grinned. "Yeah. I've been in this industry ten years—I do have a few connections."

"I just didn't expect SkyVault to let the scandal run wild online," he added, a little breathless with excitement. "But honestly, the more public attention this plagiarism mess gets, the better it is for me."

"Mr. Lewis, I understand. I'll go through all the details you've given me. As for the settlement—if you have any records of your negotiations, chat logs, or call recordings, those could all be used as evidence. I'll also need the bank receipts showing you received and returned the payment—send the electronic copies to Pinnacle Legal Partners when you're ready. All of that will be solid evidence."

Jerry's voice caught. "Thank you, Attorney Carrington. Really."

Sunny smiled. "No need to thank me. You're Vicky's friend, and I promised her I'd help. Honestly, you should thank yourself—if you hadn't had the courage to speak up, none of this would've come to light."
