Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 178

Friday was family day at the Lawson house.

Stellan and Magnus pulled their cars into the garage, one after the other.

Stellan swung his long legs out and stepped onto the concrete floor. When he spotted Magnus, his expression softened instantly, shifting back into his role as the gentle younger brother. "Hey, Magnus."

Magnus grinned. "I saw your car in front of mine just now. Come on, Dad's probably getting impatient."

"Stellan, you got married and didn't even tell the family?"

He let out a faint, playful smile. "That's actually what I came here to talk about today."

Magnus's gaze grew thoughtful. "About earlier—my assistant was out of line. I hope you won't hold it against me."

"You don't have to apologize, Magnus," Stellan replied calmly. "I just don't want anyone in our company making unprofessional judgments because of personal grudges. Besides, Matriarch Wendy Carrington was Mom's closest friend back in the day."

"If she knew how we were treating the person she picked out, she'd be heartbroken."

Magnus fell silent.

But it wasn't like they were the ones who'd called off the engagement; Sunny had done that herself. Still, he couldn't believe how old-fashioned his little brother was—he was actually quoting something their mother had once said as if it were gospel.

Each lost in his own thoughts, they walked inside.

Zara was more than happy to see her favorite "patron." Stellan's gifts were always far more generous than her usual allowance.

"Uncle Stellan! You're back! Grandpa was just asking about you."

Stellan arched an eyebrow slightly. "Yeah, Dad, I'm home."

Abbot shot him a glare, peering behind his son as if expecting someone else. "So, how long are you planning to keep your wife hidden from us?"

"Getting married is a pretty big deal. Didn't think you'd need my approval?"

Stellan chuckled softly. "Legally, I don't need my parents' permission anymore. But I still wanted to come and get your blessing. Dad, I'm married. Are you satisfied?"

Abbot's jaw dropped.

"I'll bring her to the wedding and introduce her to everyone."

Abbot's eyes lit up. "Really?"

"Of course. I'm sure you'll like her."

Zara, the only one in the know, sucked in a sharp breath. Uncle Stellan had to be out of his mind.

Was he seriously planning on stealing the spotlight from his cousin at his wedding?

She could only marvel—Uncle Stellan's defense of her best friend just now was legendary. If nothing else, it looked like he was determined to cherish her bestie.

Tristan and Luna were the last ones to arrive.

Annabelle greeted them with a smile. "Tristan, your Uncle Stellan says he'll bring your new aunt to your wedding and give you a wedding gift."

Tristan did a double take. "Really? Thanks, Uncle Stellan!"
