"Guess I'm not leaving, after all."
Sunny blinked in surprise. "You're staying?"
Stellan chuckled softly. "What's wrong, Sunny? You don't seem too happy to have me around."
"..."
"No, I'm thrilled you're here!"
–
Sunny set a personal speed record that day, barely skirting the speed limit the whole way. In just thirty minutes, she'd managed to drop her very important passenger off at his destination.
"Uncle Stellan, we're here."
Stellan unhurriedly unbuckled his seatbelt, pulling out his phone to type a message. "Thanks for the ride, Sunny. I'll take you out to dinner sometime."
Sunny forced a smile. "No need to thank me."
She didn't relax until he disappeared from view.
*Ding.*
She glanced at her phone: **ST has transferred $120.50 to you. Message: Thanks for the lift.**
Was it just her, or did Stellan always pick numbers that felt oddly suggestive?
This time, Sunny ignored the transfer. Still, Stellan's profile picture hovered at the top of her chat list all day.

When Tristan heard Secretary Chase's report, his expression darkened even further.
He grabbed his suit jacket and shot to his feet.
So she's not coming? Fine. He'd go down to Summit Legal and find her himself.
Meanwhile, Sunny checked the time, then decided to drop her car off for maintenance and finally get that little scratch fixed.
She'd barely pulled into the service center when her phone rang.
"Sunny, could you come to the hospital? Tristan was in a car accident just now. I think… I think he'd want to see you first. Can you come?"
"What happened? Tristan, did you and Sunny have a fight?" Annabelle asked, confused.
Magnus looked from his son's face to his adopted daughter's overly attentive gaze.
"Honey, why don't you take Luna downstairs to help pay the hospital bill?"
Annabelle hesitated, then caught on. "Come on, Luna. Let's go."
Once the room was empty except for father and son, Magnus's tone grew serious. "All right—tell me what's really going on."
Tristan pressed his lips together. "It's nothing. She's just upset. I'll smooth things over when I get home."
"For your sake, I hope that's true. You know how much your grandfather likes Sunny. The sooner you two make it official, the better he'll feel."
Magnus looked at his son, his expression complicated. "And another thing—I'm going to start arranging dates for Luna. Those feelings she shouldn't have? It's time to let them go."
"I don't want our family making headlines for the wrong reasons."
Tristan clenched his fists, then relaxed them. "Dad, that's not going to happen."
