Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 88

Tristan couldn't remember how he made it home that day, but Luna immediately sensed something was off.

"What's wrong, Tristan? You look like you've got a lot on your mind." Her voice was gentle, edged with concern.

He wasn't sure how to explain what had just happened.

[Luna, Tristan just went to see my sister. He probably saw her with some other guy. Luna, from now on, my sister's no threat to you at all.]

Luna glanced at the message that popped up on her phone and instantly understood.

She felt a pang of resentment, but deep down she knew Sunny still held a place in Tristan's heart.

Meanwhile, Chloe had no intention of telling Luna about Stellan. In her mind, she'd already staked her claim on this almost godlike man. He was going to be hers, no question about it.

As for what happened today? That was just Sunny playing the damsel in distress for a bit of sympathy. Chloe refused to dwell on it—if she had to blame anyone, it would be Sunny.

Luna put her phone away just as Tristan mumbled, "It's nothing. Probably just tired from waking up early."

She let it slide. "Alright, get some rest then."

Tristan barely registered her words, too lost in his own thoughts to notice the way Luna was looking at him.

Zara hadn't left yet. Instead, she stayed by her friend's side. "Sunny, it's okay to cry if you need to."

Sunny shook her head. "Zara, I don't want to cry."

But of course she wanted to. Everyone knew how much she adored her grandmother.

"Zara, you should go. I just want to be alone with her for a while."

Grace Quinn and Sean exchanged a glance and wisely fell silent.

Two hours later, they finally arrived at the Carrington family estate.

It was the seventh day since her grandmother's passing, and Sunny decided she'd stay at the Carringtons' for a while to properly observe the mourning period.

Without looking back, she announced, "I'm going upstairs."

"Wait!" Sean called after her. "Sunny, you've been getting more and more disrespectful lately. Is it really that hard to have a conversation with your own father?"

Sunny reluctantly sat back down on the sofa. "If you have something to say, just say it. I'm exhausted."

Grace Quinn stepped in to smooth things over. "It's nothing major, Sunny. It's just about the 5% share your grandmother held—your father originally gave it to her as a retirement fund."
