Stand Me Up? I'll Marry His Billionaire Uncle novel Chapter 89

So this was what they'd been waiting for her to show up for.

Sunny gave a dry little laugh. "And what? You want to take it from me? Sorry to disappoint you."

"Grandma had the transfer notarized before she passed. If you're really that desperate, maybe Dad can spare you a little more. After all, he still owns 59% of the shares!"

Grace Quinn was so angry she felt her jaw ache.

If she could get anything out of Sean, would she really be eyeing the measly 5% that Sunny had?

She'd been with Sean for years and hadn't even gotten a single share. Who wouldn't be furious?

Sean's voice was calm, almost indifferent. "The shares I hold aren't something I can just hand out to anyone. They're there to balance out the other main shareholders. Let's not make this complicated—just transfer your shares to Ms. Quinn, Sunny."

"Sunny, be reasonable. Don't make your father upset."

Sunny let out a laugh, half amused, half exasperated. "You must be joking. Grandma left those shares to me. Why on earth should I give them to someone else?"

Seeing that she wasn't backing down, Grace Quinn grew sullen and tugged at Sean's sleeve. "Sean…"

Sean could only sigh. When it came to his daughter, he was at a loss.

Sunny just smiled faintly. "Well, if there's nothing else, I'm heading upstairs to catch up on some sleep. Don't bother calling me for dinner—I couldn't eat a bite anyway."

Not with those two around.

As soon as Sunny was out of sight, Grace Quinn's anger boiled over.

"What's that supposed to mean? You promised me that after your mother passed, you'd let me have that 5%. Now it's in your daughter's hands—what about me and Chloe? Are we not your family, too?"

Sean rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. "You saw how stubborn she is—like a mule. Give it a few days. I'll set her up with some blind dates. Once she's married, those shares will come right back."

Why else would he still be single at thirty-three? Even Abbot couldn't talk him into settling down.

"What if we gave them a little… nudge?" Grace suggested, her voice sly.

Sean's eyes gleamed with sudden understanding. "You mean—?"

Chloe's cheeks flushed a rosy pink.

Stellan—with those broad shoulders, lean waist, and long, straight legs—was the very picture of masculine allure.

Just imagining his arms around her made her blush even deeper.

She glanced at Sunny's bedroom door, a victorious little smirk curving her lips.

Sunny, just wait—once I marry into the Lawsons, let's see if you're still so smug!
