Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 105

As he spoke, Larry let out a small chuckle. “And besides, she’s Dennis’s special referral—personally handed off to me. Of course I’m not going to slack off.”

Camila Davis paused, her brows furrowing. “You mean… Mr. Williams?”

“Who else would it be?” Larry replied with a teasing grin. He glanced at his watch and didn’t linger. “Looks like class is about to start. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take Lillian inside now.”

Camila hesitated for a second, but finally stepped aside. She quickly knelt to hug Lillian, whispering a few words of encouragement.

Lillian seemed to trust Larry completely. She waved cheerfully at her mom, her little backpack bouncing as she followed him through the doors.

Watching her daughter’s tiny figure disappear down the hallway, Camila felt a bittersweet ache in her chest. She was proud, though. Her little girl was learning to be brave—no hint of shyness or fear this time.

As a mother, Camila knew she had to let go a little, to give Lillian the space she needed to grow. Only then would her daughter have a real shot at a normal, happy life.

Her parents, standing beside her, were equally emotional. Their eyes were red and watery, and even after Lillian was out of sight, they lingered, reluctant to leave.

Camila could feel their anxiety. After a moment’s thought, she sent a quick text to Larry: “Mr. Adams, would it be alright if we stayed to quietly watch Lillian for a while? I promise, we’ll be discreet and won’t disturb anyone.”

Larry’s reply was almost instant: “Of course you can!”
