Sandra Taylor felt a pang of frustration as she suddenly found herself under scrutiny. “Look, we’re developing a breakthrough medicine here. It’s way more complicated than your average drug. Failure’s just part of the process…”
Jordan Smith frowned, clearly about to voice his annoyance when Sandra jumped in, eager to redirect the conversation. “But, hey, there’s some good news! The AI medical device system we’ve been working on? We just made real progress!”
She spoke quickly, excitement in her voice. “This week, my team and I finally cracked a problem that’s been bugging us for ages. The system’s upgraded now, and we’ve already seen a spike in orders from our clients!”
Sandra beamed. “That’s actually why I’m here—I wanted to share the good news with you first!”
“Oh?” Jordan’s frown softened a little. “Is that so?”
Sandra’s tone turned playful, “Would I lie to you? Sales are up twenty percent since the upgrade!”
She circled around the desk to stand beside him, her voice earnest. “I made a promise when I came back to help you. There’s no way I’d let you down. The truth is, things were a mess before because Camila left things in chaos. Now that I’m in charge, I’ve overhauled the R&D department and realized we were using some really outdated tech ideas…”
She leaned in closer, lowering her voice. “But all that’s changed now. The whole system got a facelift—it’s nothing like before.”
As she finished, Sandra rested her hands on Jordan’s shoulders, starting to massage them gently. “Jordan, you have to trust me. I’m the partner you can count on, the one who’ll stand by your side.”
Jordan listened, and the irritation melted from his face, replaced by a satisfied smile.
“Impressive, Sandra. You never let me down.”
What he didn’t know was, this ‘upgrade’ was really just building on the groundwork Camila Davis had put in before. Sandra’s team had only fixed up one small part of the whole system.
Sensing his improved mood, Sandra’s heart fluttered. Emboldened, she leaned in, her lips almost brushing his ear. “So… with results like these, don’t you think I deserve a little reward?”
