“No wonder you asked me to set up the new Sterling Group,” Camila said, her arms crossed as she eyed Walter across the conference table. “You’d been planning this for a while, huh?”
Walter grinned, a little too pleased with himself. “So, this system—is it even more advanced than what Sterling Group has right now?”
Camila paused, considering. “With the tech we have now at Sterling? We’re nowhere near this level yet. Unless… Sandra Taylor really is as good as she claims. If she brings back what she learned overseas and cracks the code, maybe then.”
Walter snorted at the mention of Sandra’s name. He had his doubts—ever since Sandra returned from abroad, she’d been busy cozying up to other people’s husbands, parading around like she owned the place, trying to play the role of Mrs. Sterling. He just didn’t buy her as some genius.
Not that he said any of this out loud. Instead, he switched back to business. “Well, now that we have a ready-made system, our team’s efficiency will go through the roof. Don’t worry, I’ll keep an eye on this and make sure we push the product out as quickly as possible.”
Camila’s gaze was calm. “No need to rush. We need to play it safe, especially with new tech. Clinical trials take time, and there are always risks in the early stages. My advice is not to go into full production until we’re sure everything checks out. Start small, scale up once it’s proven.”
Walter nodded, his confidence unshaken. “Of course, I know that. Look, I might not have your knack for R&D, but when it comes to running the Sterling Group, I’ve got more experience than you.”
Camila had to admit he was probably right. Walter managed the entire Wilson Corporation without breaking a sweat. Compared to that, this was child’s play.
She pressed a key on her laptop, shutting it down. “Alright, then. I’ll leave this project in your hands. Here’s hoping the new Sterling Group takes off like a rocket.”
She raised her pale little fist in a playful gesture.
Walter shot her an exasperated look. “Most people shake hands when they seal a deal. Why are you always doing that fist-bump thing?”
