Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 215

“Do you really think you can afford to piss off the Smith family?”

The restaurant manager’s face turned pale. He hadn’t realized who he was messing with, and now he looked like he was about to faint.

He hesitated, looking helpless.

Lucas Smith was losing his patience. “Mr. Thompson, you’ve always been the first to bend over backwards for me. Looks like you owe me an explanation.”

With that, he whipped out his phone and dialed Harold Thompson’s number.

When Harold heard that someone at the restaurant had offended Lucas, he practically flew out of his chair and rushed to the scene.

As soon as he arrived, he started apologizing profusely, bowing and scraping. “I’m so sorry, Lucas. This is our staff’s fault. Please, don’t take it to heart. Let’s not let this ruin our relationship.”

In Harrisburg, the Thompson family was barely a blip compared to the Smiths—everyone knew that.

Harold would never dare cross Lucas Smith. It just wasn’t worth it, especially since Lucas cared a lot about his reputation. If there was any bad blood, it could spell disaster for the Thompsons.

So after apologizing, Harold turned around and snapped at the manager. “What the hell were you thinking? Lucas just wanted a private dining room. Just give it to him! How could you screw this up?”

The manager looked like he wanted to sink into the floor. He leaned in and whispered, “Mr. Smith, it’s not that I didn’t want to help. It’s just… tonight that room’s reserved for a VIP guest. Orders straight from the chairman himself. He made it very clear not to mess this up. My hands are tied, sir!”

Harold’s eyes widened in surprise.

His father personally reserved the room?

Who on earth was this important?

But even then… could they really be more important than the Smiths?

Harold wasn’t stupid. Instead of kicking out the current guests, he pulled out his phone and called his father to check.
