Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 237

“Yeah, you really should get out more. It’ll help your mood, and besides, I haven’t added any new photos of you to the family album in ages,” Melissa George said, her voice tinged with nostalgia.

Camila Davis, sensing her mom was about to start worrying about her love life again, quickly caved. “Okay, okay, I’ll go with Sarah and take some pictures!”

Her parents instantly looked relieved.

Sarah Brown shot Camila a triumphant grin.

Camila could only sigh in defeat.

After breakfast—eggs, toast, and a side of crispy bacon—the girls tidied up and hit the road, heading straight to Silvermere.

On the way, Camila gave Sarah a suspicious look. “Alright, spill it. You’re acting weird. Why did you randomly drag me out for a photo shoot today? Be honest: is the photographer cute or something?”

Sarah rolled her eyes. “Please. Do I seem like the type to ditch my best friend for a cute guy?” She hesitated for a second, then admitted, “Honestly, I just figured today might be rough for you. I thought some bestie time might fill the gap, you know?”

Camila paused, touched, though she tried to play it off. “You seriously think I’d get all mopey about that?”

Sarah studied her a moment, then grinned. “Not anymore? Good. But you’re still stuck taking photos with me!”

Camila thought to herself, Well, not like I have a choice now—my parents already assigned me this ‘mission’...

Half an hour later, they arrived at Silvermere—one of Harrisburg’s famous spots and a haven for photographers.

The photo crew was already waiting.

The shoot was ambitious: they’d cycle through several styles, from vintage gowns to retro 1940s looks, all the way to modern chic.

The makeup team was top-notch, and both girls were naturally photogenic—after a little touch-up, they looked straight out of a magazine.

As they posed, a few other photographers—strangers just out exploring—were drawn in by the scene, snapping candid shots of the girls with their own cameras.

Camila noticed and looked surprised.

Sarah, slightly annoyed, was about to say something, but one of the strangers quickly apologized. “Sorry, you both just look incredible! Couldn’t help myself. Don’t worry, I’ll send you the photos later. Promise you’ll love ‘em.”

With that reassurance, they let it go.

During a break, a couple of guys wandered over.

One introduced himself as a scout from The Smith Group—a well-known entertainment company. He asked if the girls were new recruits.

Sarah laughed. “No, we’re just regular people here for a best friends’ photo shoot.”
