Camila Davis turned at the sound of her name, and there he was—a tall figure standing by the curb.
The man stood with an easy grace next to a sleek black Rolls-Royce, its elegant curves exuding wealth and status, but it was his presence that was truly magnetic.
He wore a perfectly tailored black suit under a long overcoat. His strikingly handsome face was framed by stylish gold-rimmed glasses, and he had that air of quiet sophistication—like a prince straight out of an old English manor.
For a second, Camila was so caught off guard, she almost forgot to breathe.
Running into Dennis Williams here, of all places, was the last thing she expected.
What surprised her even more, though, was what he’d just called her.
Camila Davis?
Did she hear that right?
The way he said her name—low and smooth—still echoed in her ears, sending a little thrill down her spine.
And weirdly enough, after all these years of knowing each other, this was the first time he’d ever addressed her by her full name.
She didn’t know why, but her heart gave a little leap. Honestly, she felt even more excited than when she’d gotten the good news about her settlement earlier.
Her eyes brightened, sparkling with unhidden delight as she made her way toward him. “Mr. Williams! You’re heading back to Harrisburg too? What are the odds!”
Dennis's voice was relaxed, “Yeah, looks like the timing worked out.”
He knew she was coming back on the fifth, but hadn’t been sure about her exact schedule.
They’d only just landed themselves, and as they headed for the exit, Dennis had glanced over—only to spot a very familiar figure.
By now, Camila had reached him.
Dennis asked, “Did you call for a ride? If not, we can give you a lift.”
Camila didn’t hesitate. “That’d be great, thanks!”
She hadn’t called an Uber yet anyway, and it was late and cold; the less waiting around, the better.
Dennis nodded to his bodyguard to load her suitcase into the car.
Soon enough, the two of them climbed into the back seat, one after the other.
As soon as Camila slid in, she realized the front seats were already occupied. Aaron was behind the wheel, and next to him—Larry Adams.
Larry was making a show of smacking his lips, voice full of teasing, “Well, well, well...”
Camila was surprised, but since they were all old friends, she just grinned and greeted them. “Hey Aaron, Happy New Year! Mr. Adams, Happy New Year... What brings you back to Harrisburg so early? Doesn’t the university open after Valentine’s Day?”
Larry chuckled, “Yeah, but let’s be real, there’s nothing to do in Cabinda. I figured I’d come back early with Dennis!”
