Swapping a Broken Heart for a New Start novel Chapter 46

"Thanks!"

Camila Davis said it to Walter Wilson with genuine gratitude.

Walter just frowned at her, clearly not a fan of her politeness. "Thank me? For what? You earned this with your own medical skills. It’s what you deserve, not some kind of charity! If you really want to thank me, wait until I land us a bigger gig—then you can thank me!"

Camila just grinned, knowing full well how he was. "Alright, Mr. Wilson. I’ll be waiting for you to make me rich!"

That payment had really fired her up—she’d never made that kind of money at The Smith Group.

---

At The Smith Group, with Jordan Smith’s support, Sandra Taylor spent a few days smoothing things over with their old clients. She even leveraged her dad’s connections to bring in a couple of new accounts, just barely patching the mess she’d caused.

But Sandra wasn’t about to come clean. Instead, she put on a bit of a show for Jordan.

"These clients? I met them when I was abroad, just by chance," she said breezily. "Since the R&D department took a hit because of me, I figured I’d bring them in. Satisfied, Jordan?"

Jordan looked at her with warm approval. "Very satisfied!"

The clients Sandra brought in were top-tier. Not just anyone could pull that off—only someone with her connections.

Jordan was seriously impressed. Compared to Sandra, Camila Davis seemed… well, lacking. During her time at The Smith Group, all Camila ever did was bury herself in research. She never went out of her way to win over clients. When she first joined R&D, it took her over a month just to find her footing.

Sandra, on the other hand, had pulled things together in a week. The difference was obvious.

Jordan felt more confident than ever in his decision. Smiling, he reached into his drawer and handed Sandra a small, elegant box. "A little something to thank you. Go on—open it. See if you like it."
