Chapter 203
She smiles that smile, the one that I’ve been dreaming about for six months, the one that I’ve missed every day when I didn’t get to see her
“Good. I’ll come to your room tonight, if that’s okay.”
“That’s more than okay,” I say, leaning down slowly, giving her a chance to pull away.
When she doesn’t, I press my lips to hers, pulling her against me and sliding a hand into her hair. I don’t fight for dominance. I don’t try to take control. I just let myself fall into her taste, the sweetness of her kiss, and the familiar dance of our tongues that I’ve missed so much.
Her hands slide around my neck and she leans into me, whimpering softly and enjoying the kiss as much as I am.
Enya
Christian’s kiss felt different. It was exactly what I wanted from him. It was loving, and beautiful, and in the end, neither of us were dominant. We were equals, two people who wanted to be together and enjoyed the moment.
On the way back to the packhouse, the conversation stayed mostly neutral. We talked about the Academy, and I told him where I had scored my points. I could tell he was proud of me for being first to defeat The Beast in wolf form.
“Lorenzo beat me in human form, but I beat him in wolf form.”
“You and Lorenzo seemed pretty close,” he says, glancing over at me.
“I didn’t understand before. I will admit, I was incredibly jealous of Talia when I met her. But now, I get it. You don’t forge these kinds of friendships and then not have those people become lifelong friends. Lorenzo is my Talia, I guess,” I tell him.
“I’m glad you had him. Were there others that you become close with?” he asks.
“Yes. Lorenzo is obviously an Alpha heir, so we didn’t take all the same classes, but I became close to all the students in the Pack Management class. Speaking of, I have no idea if there is anything planned for my birthday, but I’ve invited like twenty people from the Academy to my party. If we’re not having one, I need to create a party somewhere,” I say, laughing.

Chapter 203
“Do you really think that I would let your eighteenth birthday go by without a celebration, Enya?”
I grin and look at him. “No. I would have been disappointed if you weren’t planning something.”
“It’s a very important day,” he says, but something in his tone is sad.
I don’t want him to sound sad. Christian rarely sounds sad, so I keep the conversation light
“Are you going to tell me what you’re doing?”
He glances at me, grinning. “No.”
I laugh and sit back. “I’ll give you the list of people I’d like to invite.”
“Do it soon. Your birthday is in a week.”
“I’ll have the list to you by tomorrow,” I tell him.
