I watch the look she gives him. It’s the same look that Enya gives Christian. It’s a look that’s full of love, admiration, and desire. The look that hopefully one day, my mate will give to me.

I wave goodbye as the train pulls away, hopefully ready to face this next challenge.

When I turn back, Ryan’s mate is waiting for me. “Hi. I’m Caroline. I’ve met Enya, of course, but we’ve never met. I’m Ryan’s mate and Christian’s sister–in–law.”

“It’s nice to meet you.”

“Come in and get settled. We’ll get your room assignments for the train, but until then come meet your fellow students for the next six months.” she says.

I’ve just taken a seat, introducing myself to the female Alpha who joined. Cassandra, when Alpha Benjamin walks over

“Shane, do you remember me?”

“Alpha Benjamin, of course I remember you. Are you an instructor this year as well?”

“I am. It’s going to be a great semester,” he says, rubbing his hands together excitedly. “I took a year off to work with the council, but this is where my heart is. Now that my mate can join me, I prefer to work here.”

“Where is your mate?” I ask, looking around.

“She’s in the back. She’s on dinner duty with Sam. When Dane does introductions, she’ll come out. I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve got for us this semester, Shane,” he says before introducing himself to Cassandra.

“Do you know everyone?” she whispers when he walks away.

“No. Mostly I’ve met these folks through Christian.”

“And Christian is…?”

“Uh, well, long story short, my parents were murdered nearly two years ago, my dad’s Beta betrayed him and tried to take over the pack. I was sixteen, my sister was seventeen, and we weren’t prepared to run the pack while dealing with our grief. I called the Council for assistance,
