Celeste, Caleb, and Kieran had all come prepared, so their tables were already covered with all kinds of top-quality ingredients.
Salads, wine, champagne, pastries, and specialty drinks were neatly arranged in picnic baskets and laid out on blankets, making their picnic setup look effortlessly perfect.
After setting everything up, Caleb looked at the steak, lamb chops, and various seafood he'd brought along and asked Celeste, "Do you eat spicy food? These marbled lamb chops were flown in last night from out of town—I tried them before, the quality's really good—"
Before he could finish, Kieran walked over, handed Celeste a drink, and cut him off. "This is a special drink I made. It tastes pretty good—want to try it?"
Since he was already holding it out, Celeste had no choice but to take it. "Thanks."
She couldn't ignore Caleb either, so she turned back to him and said, "I can eat spicy food. I'm not picky."
Caleb smiled. "Okay."
Then Celeste politely took a sip of the drink in her hand. It really was nice—blueberry flavored, her favorite. The berries had been perfectly blended, giving it a refreshing taste that caught her by surprise.
"It's really good. I like it, thank you."
Having worked by her side for a few months, Kieran naturally knew her tastes better than anyone. He'd even asked someone to create new flavors based on what she liked.
Hearing her say she liked it, his smile deepened. "Glad to hear that. I had them mix a few other flavors too—there's a raspberry one. Want to try it later?"
Celeste nodded. "Sure."
When she looked up again, she saw Lottie across the way winking at her.
Lottie tried not to laugh, leaning toward Matthias and whispering, "Looks like I came at the right time."
Honestly, this was way more entertaining than watching a meteor shower.

This book needs to be ignored for 2 weeks in order to get something out of it when you read. The chapters are too short and you come out with nothing when reading one chapter. If this book wasn't so nice and I wasn't so far with it, I would have quit reading....
