The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 382

The stands were packed with cheering fans.

Rebecca blinked in surprise. She hadn’t expected Dylan to be facing off with Samuel in the ring.

After losing several rounds, Samuel finally collapsed onto the mat, lying motionless.

A flicker of despair crossed his eyes—a mix of self-doubt and unwillingness to accept defeat. He’d spent years training, pushing himself harder with every challenge, but whenever he went up against Dylan, he was bested again and again.

Nearby, Joyce frowned. “No way. Samuel, you actually lost to Mr. Austin?”

Rebecca was just as taken aback. She knew Samuel—knew how much effort he’d poured into boxing, and how impressive he really was. His house was lined with championship trophies from various tournaments.

But Dylan’s abilities? She didn’t know much about those at all…

Seeing Samuel sprawled on the ground, her heart tightened with worry. Still, if she went over to check on him now, he’d probably feel humiliated—especially with how proud he was.

Better to let him get up on his own.

After a moment, Samuel slowly pushed himself to his feet.

He looked pale, his expression grim, but there wasn’t a trace of resentment in his eyes. He knew he’d been outmatched, and he accepted the loss with grace.

Stepping up to Dylan, Samuel extended his hand. “You’re really good, Dylan. I admit defeat.”

Dylan shook his hand firmly and nodded. “You’re not bad yourself. Next time we get a chance, let’s go another round.”

Samuel’s gaze darkened slightly, lost in thought.

Just then, Dylan glanced off the stage and caught sight of a striking figure in the crowd.

Raina?

Letting go of Samuel’s hand, Dylan stepped down from the ring without another word.

Samuel, still catching his breath, barely had time to process what was happening before he saw Dylan striding straight toward Becky.

The four little ones spotted their dad heading for their mom and immediately started buzzing with excitement.
