The Heiress Chooses Madness novel Chapter 110

Hailey pushed herself up despite the pain, rubbing her aching backside and lower back. Her glare at Kayla burned hot, as if she could scorch her into ash with a single look.

Kayla, you bitch! How dare youOuch, you really did put your hands on me. Today I’m notnot letting this go.The pain was so sharp that Hailey could barely get a full sentence out. She was hurting for real.

She quickly turned to the crowd around them, raising her voice with a theatrical wail, saying, Everyone, look

at this!

Kayla doesn’t just fool around with men. She bullies people at school, too. Beating up classmates like some thug. How can we share a school with someone so shameless and overbearing? We should drive her out together.

Several girls, either because of Hailey’s status or because they were close to her, immediately echoed her words.

One said, Yeah, Kayla has gone too far. She dared to hit someone in broad daylight. Who would want to be in the same school as her? What if we’re next?

Another chimed in, And yesterday, everyone was talking about her pregnancy. Now she’s out here hitting people. She’s completely given up on saving face.”

Another added, Exactly. She knows she can’t stay here with her reputation ruined, so now she’s reckless. We should keep our distance and push the school to expel her.

Another girl shouted, Kick her out! We don’t want her here.”

When Marianna saw the crowd turning on Kayla, a flicker of satisfaction crossed her eyes. On the surface, though, she feigned concern. Hay, maybe we should stop. Look at Kayla. She doesn’t look the least bit afraid. What if she snaps and comes at us?

Feeling a dull ache throb through her body, Hailey couldn’t help but take two steps back.

But with so many people around, she squared her shoulders and put on a brave frontthough you could still hear the tremor behind her words. Why should we be scared of her, when there are so many of us?

Just then, Davon came running over with a few others. He looked at Marianna with concern. Are you alright? I heard Kayla hit you.

Hailey was standing in front of Marianna and didn’t notice the way the two of them interacted. She assumed Davon was worried about her, and her heart swelled with relief.

Pouting, Hailey edged closer to him, her face full of wounded grievance. Day, thank God you’re here. Kayla went too far. She stomped on my foot on purpose and knocked me to the ground. I’m in so much pain.

Davon felt uneasy under her gaze and instinctively shifted a little farther away from her.

He stole a glance at Marianna and saw her slowly shake her head, signaling that she was fine. Only then did his

chest ease with relief.
