The Heiress Chooses Madness novel Chapter 162

Chapter 162

The mocking laughter, sneers, and whispers crashed in from every direction, each one stinging like a slap across the face for everyone in Class G.

After all, even their own teacher had just humiliated and berated them publicly. Nobody could even find the courage to fight back.

Some Class G students hung their heads in shame, instinctively stepping aside to let Class A pass through.

Tania, who’d been fired up just a minute ago, suddenly lost all her spirit. She dropped her head, not daring to meet the unfriendly stares around her.

The Class A students strutted past like they owned the place, their faces glowing with smug satisfaction and zero attempt to hide their contempt for Class G.

Just as they were about to shove Class G out of the way, Payton suddenly shouted, So what if we’re trash? So what if we’re cocky? We won that debate fair and square. That’s a fact!

And wherever you go, Class A, you’re the ones we beat. You’re losers who can’t even measure up to trash!

Kayla’s head snapped up. She locked eyes with Payton, and something fierce sparked in her gaze.

The coldness on her face melted away, replaced by a confident smirk. Yeah, even if we’re trash, we’re the recyclable kind. We beat you once, we’ll beat you twice, three times, four times. Class A, you better get used to losing!

Tania straightened up like she’d just downed a shot of pure adrenaline, letting out a sharp snort. You’re not even worth being called trash! Who gave you the right to push us around?

Exactly! Good grades don’t mean squat. For all you know, you’ll end up working for my family someday,” someone else shouted.

Kayla and Payton turned to see Killian casually adjusting his thick glasses, looking completely unbothered.

Kayla couldn’t help but laugh. You guys really do have to hustle, don’t you? Me? I could tank every test and still coast on my family’s money for ten lifetimes. Must be rough not having that kind of cushion.

As Kayla spoke, her gaze landed on Marianna and Davon, her lips twitching into a mocking smile. So don’t push me, or I can’t promise the Sexton family will keep paying for your

education.

Kayla had never been one to throw her family’s status around, but using it just this once felt pretty good.

Sure, Kayla couldn’t actually cut Marianna’s funding, but as long as no one else knew that, she could bluff all she wanted. Maybe this was what a psychological victory felt like. And honestly, it felt amazing.

The gloomy expressions on the other Class G students started to lift. Confidence flickered back into their eyes. Yeah! You only have grades. We’ve got money!

Several students from welloff families jumped in, backing her up.

Sure enough, Marianna and Davon’s faces darkened instantly. They looked downright livid, like they’d just been publicly humiliated.

Kayla flashed a satisfied grin, barely sparing a glance at Ravenna’s furious expression. She grabbed Payton and Tania, and they regrouped in line. Then, heads held high, they strutted past Class A to get their food, swaggering like they owned the whole cafeteria.

The afternoon sun slanted through the hallway windows, but even its warmth couldn’t break the tense mood lingering in the classroom.

Ravenna suddenly grabbed Payton and dragged him out into the hallway by the railing.

Ravenna looked furious, practically spitting with rage as she unleashed all her anger on him. You did that on purpose today, didn’t you? Made me look like an idiot in front of Class A. Bet that felt real good, huh?

Her voice dripped with fury. Or did you forget how Class A kicked you out? If Class G hadn’t taken you in, you’d have been expelled ages ago. But you? Not a shred of gratitude. You humiliate me in public instead. You’re nothing but an ungrateful snake.

If you want to hang out with a bunch of lowlifes, fine, but don’t drag Class G down with you. Otherwise, don’t blame me when I kick you out myself. Let’s see what school will take you then.

You Class G trash need to know your place. Just wait until graduation, then get the hell out and stop causing me problems.”

Even through the closed door, everyone in Class G could hear every word of Ravenna’s screaming insults and threats. Their faces grew darker with each passing second.

But Payton just leaned against the railing like nothing was wrong. He listened quietly without talking back, without getting angry, without even looking upset.

To Ravenna, that relaxed attitude looked like pure defiance. It just made her angrier, and her words got even

nastier.

The students in Class G looked grim as they listened.

Kayla and Tania quietly moved to the window and caught Payton’s eye.

Payton saw them and smiled faintly, acting like he couldn’t even hear Ravenna’s cursing. He even waved at

them.

Tania tugged Kayla’s sleeve, her expression conflicted. Kay, did Ravenna yell at him so much he went numb? How can he still smile?

Ravenna noticed Payton’s gaze and turned to look. She met Kayla’s cold eyes, and her anger grew even stronger.

But since Kayla was the Sexton family’s daughter, Ravenna didn’t dare target her directly.
