Gianna bit her lower lip lightly, a shy little smile flickering across her face.

Then, like it was the most natural thing, she hooked her arm through Maxwell’s and spoke in a soft and slightly flirty voice.
“Maxwell, you’re amazing. Every time I wear something you design for me, I feel like a whole new person.
“Not only do I look prettier, I feel more confident inside too.”
Gianna’s praise shot straight to Maxwell’s ego, making him adore her even more.
No wonder people liked Gianna so much more than Amelia–there was a reason for that.
For this big modeling event, Maxwell had put together three totally different looks for her.
The first was a vintage evening dress, the second a slick, sexy “queen bee” look, and the third a light, fairy–like style.
Lina watched the two of them, both lost in themselves, and tightened her mouth in quiet disgust.
How on earth does Gianna fit into that vintage look?
The fairy look is okay—at least it matches the persona the company has long built for her, so people are
used to it.
But the queen bee and the retro styles? There’s no way she can pull those off.
She can’t deliver the subtlety or grace those outfits needed.
To Lina, Gianna was just an empty package the company
dressed up.
If you wanted to show real skill–especially with styles that needed depth and refinement- Gianna was making a fool of herself,
Watching Gianna swing her hips on purpose, Lina thought it looked stiff and fake. It was nothing like the quiet poise a vintage look required.
And the heavy makeup totally ruined the delicate, refined vibe the retro style needed.
She looked like a stage actor with too much makeup, not a graceful beauty from another era.
Still, Maxwell glowed beside her, acting like she was flawless.

Lina thought, They just keep praising each other, stuck in their own little bubble.
Maxwell has no real taste–he just defends his sister blindly.
Of course, Lina was sharp, and she knew how things worked in this business.
She kept her real thoughts to herself and went along, showering Gianna with empty compliments.
Only an idiot would go against their boss.
Especially this petty sibling duo–they never took advice and couldn’t handle criticism.
“You’re saying Gianna’s ghost singer quit her contract?”
Marcelo needed to hear about the sudden exit of three people from the company.
Nygard Entertainment was built around Gianna, but that didn’t mean they could treat it carelessly.
Shareholders were watching Nygard Group closely. Any drop in profit or bad press would be trouble.
Marcelo, acting as CEO now, was the heir apparent to Nygard Group.
Even though Raymond had handed most running to him, Marcelo wasn’t officially chairman
yet.
He still needed shareholder backing, so everyone was watching, and he couldn’t afford a big mistake.
“Don’t worry, Marcelo. That singer can’t make waves. If she puts out an album or shows up on stage, Gianna’s fans will tear her apart online.
“I’ll have our team and marketing accounts drop hints and rumors now and then. She won’t last.”
To Maxwell, these people weren’t worth losing sleep over. Telling Marcelo was just protocol.
Marcelo didn’t seem too worried either; he just nodded.
He had other things on his mind.
“I heard Amelia’s entering the Popular Model Contest too. And she’s doing it solo? Not with an agency?”
