She’d created the antidote herself. Nobody else could buy it. Even if they tried, it was almost impossible to get.

Her medicine came straight from the research institute–all brand–new stuff not even out on the market yet.

Only high–ranking officials or people who had done something huge for the country ever got access to it.

“This pill is huge! How am I supposed to swallow that?” Diana hesitated, but she finally gave in.

If Amelia was right, she was doomed anyway. She might as well risk it.

Even if it wasn’t poison, her face was already wrecked. Better to take a chance than live like that.

So, she decided to trust Amelia for once.

“It dissolves in water. Just drink it with warm water.”

As Amelia spoke, Thea quickly handed Diana a glass of water.

Still doubtful but with no choice, Diana tossed the pill in and gulped it down.

The bitterness hit instantly. She gagged. “Ugh, this is so bitter!”

“Bitter medicine works the best.”

“This tastes like a dead rat!”

“Yep. That’s because there’s actually some rat in it,” Amelia said casually. It was poison fighting poison.

Diana almost vomited again.

She kept retching. And then, blood suddenly spilled from her mouth.

Thick, dark blood poured out, shocking Emery and Thea.

Emery screamed, “Amelia, what did you give her?! Are you trying to kill her?”

If that was true, she’d drag the Nygards down with her. What was that rebellious girl doing?

Amelia ignored Emery and stayed focused on Diana.

When the vomiting finally stopped, she asked, “Feel any better? No more chest pain, no shortness of breath, right?”

“Yeah, I think I do.” Diana took a deep breath, surprised at how easy it felt.

She’d thought she was on death’s door, but her whole body suddenly felt light.

“Check your face.” Amelia handed her a mirror.

Diana took one look and almost dropped it.

Her face, once swollen and oozing, was already healing. The pus and open sores were gone.

It didn’t sting or itch anymore.

Sure, her skin was still rough and scarred. But compared to before, it was a huge step up.

The change was shocking.

Diana stood frozen, joy and disbelief mixing in her eyes.

Her hands shook as she touched her face, feeling the skin that was no longer raw and ruined.

She muttered, “This is unbelievable. There’s hope! What kind of miracle drug is this?”

Emery was just as stunned. Every thought she’d had about Amelia poisoning Diana disappeared, replaced with pure amazement and curiosity.

Thea looked relieved, thinking the whole mess might be over.

Right now, she admired her niece more than ever. Amelia was amazing.

“Amelia, you’re incredible! My face It’ll get back to normal, right?”
