“Alright then, I’ll go find Mom and Dad. If you need anything, just come to me.” Gianna gave a sweet smile, lifted her dress elegantly, and left.
Of course, she could not directly accuse Amelia of pushing Isabel into the sea.
Yet, this was enough–just enough to make the Nygards resent and distrust her again. That was all she needed.
Not many people knew what had happened earlier, but Maxwell did.
Furious, he went straight to confront Amelia.
When did his sister become so terrifying–to the point of trying to kill someone?
If he did not talk some sense into her now, she would end up dragging the whole family down one day.
One was determined to find Amelia, the other wanted to see Isabel.
Coincidentally, the two were together.
“Amelia, why are you with Isabel?”
They were surprised when they spotted the two chatting happily at the drinks counter.
Marcelo was even more stunned.
Isabel rarely interacted with the Nygards, let alone Amelia, who had already moved out.
He had always hoped Gianna and Isabel could at least be on friendly terms–sisters in name if nothing else but the more he tried, the more distant they became.
And now, it seemed that she was getting along well with Amelia.
“You two seem really close.”
Wait a minute, didn’t Amelia just try to push Isabel into the sea?
How could they be acting so friendly now?
“Is it really that strange for us to be friends?” Amelia scoffed. “It’s not like everyone’s as unpopular as Gianna.”
“You Weren’t you just trying to … ”

“Marcelo,” Amelia interrupted coldly, “use your brain, it’s a good thing to have. You might still have time to grow one.”
His expression darkened. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Meaning you’re willfully blind. If you don’t get it, that’s your problem. Now go back and keep sucking up to your precious Gianna, and quit bothering me.”
Amelia was done dealing with him; the guy was hopeless. Even if the truth slapped him in the face, he would still side with Gianna.
Maybe one day, when she turned on him herself, he’d finally get it.
“Amelia! How can you talk to Mercelo like that?” Maxwell scolded, his face full of self–righteous
anger.
Before Amelia could even respond, Patience jumped right in.
“Ha! Look who’s talking. You’re like a mudfish that touched a drop of seawater and suddenly thinks he’s some fancy seafood!
“You’re literally nothing.”
Maxwell froze, mouth open, completely stunned.
It took him a while to stammer, “You … You’re talking about me? You actually said that to me?”
Wasn’t this the same woman who used to call him handsome, classy, and irresistible?
Now look at her, throwing all that sweet talk out the window.
“So what if I did?” Patience shot back. “Did I say anything wrong? You keep kissing up to Gianna, and for what? She doesn’t even take you seriously! You’re out here calling her ‘sister‘ like it’s some badge of honor. Aren’t you embarrassed?”
Patience was unstoppable now, like all her pent–up frustration had finally burst out.
Back then, she had bent over backward to please him and that awful Gianna.
Never again.
Amelia clapped her hands with a bright grin, cheering her best friend on.
