This wasn’t about luring Amelia anymore–Diana realized the woman in front of her was trying to take that spot for herself.
Diana felt like she was being used. She helped Gianna to win the prize.
“Diana, how can you say that? This is clearly a win–win for both of us,” Gianna said easily.
Dealing with someone like Diana was no challenge at all. Gianna didn’t bother wasting time thinking about what to say.
She smiled and spoke smoothly, “My mom already promised to give me company shares and a huge wedding gift. Everyone in my family adores me. That’s something Amelia could never compare to.”
She went on smoothly, her tone calm and persuasive. “Amelia’s too wild and impossible to control. If she ends up with Vincent, your family will be in chaos. But me? I’m calm, educated, and know how to handle family politics. I can help Vincent with his career, and I’ll stand with you as your ally. Isn’t that better?”
Gianna actually knew quite a bit about the Desters‘ situation.
Vincent wasn’t the only heir, which made Diana anxious.
Marrying a woman who owned 30% of Nygard Group would definitely give her son an edge in the inheritance fight.
Gianna saw through Diana completely. That’s why she spoke so confidently, her words hitting every weak spot in Diana’s heart.
“You do make some sense,” Diana finally said, beginning to waver.
Amelia really was a handful, and her messy connection with Jeremy only made things worse.
And Jeremy wasn’t someone her family could offend.
If Vincent got involved with Amelia and somehow upset that man, it would cause more harm than good.
After weighing the pros and cons, Diana expression finally softened.
“As long as you can be a good wife to Vincent, I’ll treat you like my daughter.”
That line said it all–Diana had accepted her.

So what if Vincent was a mama’s boy? So what if Diana was controlling and possessive of her
son?
Gianna was confident. Once she won over Diana, everything else would fall into place.
Vincent wouldn’t be able to escape her grasp–ever.
After the birthday party ended, Emery went home and told Raymond about Gianna and Vincent’s situation.
To her surprise, when she suggested giving Gianna a share of the company and a generous wedding gift, he agreed right away.
Emery had expected a discussion, maybe even resistance.
After all, they had several children. She thought he might want to think it over or at least weigh things out.
But no–he agreed right away.
She had even planned a few persuasive speeches in her mind, but none of them were needed.
“Are you sure you want to give Gianna that much?” she asked, needing to confirm.
“Of course,” Raymond replied easily, sitting back in his luxurious office chair. “Gianna finally found someone she truly likes, and Vincent is a Desters, no less. We adore her. Isn’t it right to give her the best?”
To him, it was only natural. Gianna was his daughter with Regina; that alone made him
generous.
Lately, Regina had been coming to him in tears, saying she’d been with him quietly for years, but he never gave Gianna any properties.
Raymond thought about it and couldn’t deny that he felt guilty toward them both.
They had loved each other deeply once, but his mother had torn them apart. Back then, he hadn’t even known Regina was pregnant.
For years, both mother and daughter had suffered in silence. His heart ached for them.
He had been thinking of transferring a few properties or shops to Gianna himself.
Now, Emery bringing it up first made things easier for him. It saved him from having to mention it himself and risk raising her suspicion.
