Chapter 225 Elian’s Move
No. This absolutely could not be allowed to happen.

Marcelo and Raymond were on the same page about that. No one in their position would be willing to hand over everything they’d built, even if they weren’t doing a great job.
Marcelo wasn’t incompetent. Not by a long shot. But the comparison … that’s what made it sting. Especially when the one he was being compared to was his own sister. And given everything Amelia had done recently and how competent and sharp she’d been, he had to admit he’d underestimated her.
But even so, there was no way he was giving all of this up to her.
Not after how badly things had gone with that little witch. He’d already burned every bridge with her.
If she ended up in charge of Nygard Group, he’d be stuck beneath her for the rest of his life, and she’d make sure he felt it every damn day.
“She’s still just a girl, and she doesn’t understand real business. Sure, she’s done okay in entertainment, but that’s a whole different world.” Raymond cut in, sounding casual, though everyone could feel the tension under his words. He continued, almost like he was casually brushing it off, “She disappeared from the Nygards a few years back then. Didn’t spend that time sharpening her skills or building herself up. She’s in no shape to take on a role this big.”
“She is? If I remember correctly, Ms. Nygard was always top of her class growing up. She got into the best university in Novaterra. Not everyone needs to study abroad to prove their worth,” Elian replied, his tone calm but firm. He didn’t raise his voice, but the point landed hard. It was obvious Elian didn’t agree with Raymond’s attempts to discredit Amelia, and he wasn’t afraid to say so, even if it meant making an enemy out of him.
Raymond’s expression tightened. Elian always had to push back against him, and he couldn’t stand the man. If it weren’t for the fact that Elian was part of the Carters, a family that had been loyal to Conrad since the beginning, and if he hadn’t proven himself countless times within the company, earning the respect of half the board, Raymond would’ve fired him years ago and bought back his shares, no matter the cost.
At this point, that man had become a thorn in Raymond’s side.
“Well, that may be true, but Amelia’s never really had her sights set on this kind of thing. She’s just into acting, being on shows, and stuff like that. Honestly, if she married into a good family and lived comfortably, that wouldn’t be a bad life for her either,” Raymond said, trying to sound casual. He might’ve held a grudge, but he knew better than to speak too harshly, at least on the surface. Elian had strong ties in the company, and while he wasn’t aiming for the top spot himself, his voice still carried weight in decisions.

Chapter 225 Elian’s Move

Since Elian wasn’t after the Nygards‘ position of power, neither Raymond nor Marcelo had made any real moves against him. They had tried to win him over once or twice, but the man was like a stone wall–stubborn, unmoved, and completely immune to pressure or persuasion.
“How could that be? Sure, Ms. Nygard’s acting career is impressive, but she’s also shown she’s got real talent in running a business. There’s no way a small company could grow that quickly in under six months without capable leadership,” Elian replied calmly.
“I spoke with her myself. She’s very open to joining the company and taking on real responsibility. From my perspective, partnering with her company and bringing her into Nygard Group to learn the ropes would be a very smart move. Mr. Marcelo has made repeated mistakes. Mr. Miguel and Mr. Maxwell clearly have no interest in stepping up. If Ms. Nygard has both the drive and the ability, then she deserves the chance to prove herself,” he continued.
Elian was usually a man of few words. The fact that he’d said this much in one sitting made it crystal clear. This issue mattered to him. Deeply.
His message wasn’t subtle. He was pushing for Amelia to join Nygard Group, to start learning the business, effectively positioning her as a potential future successor.
It wasn’t that Amelia had never wanted to be involved before. It was just that Raymond had kept her at arm’s length, using excuse after excuse to keep her out.
But now that she’d proven herself, and even though her company was technically independent, it still operated under the Nygard Group name.
Since the company operated under the Nygard Group’s name, a portion of the profits naturally belonged to the Group and, by extension, the shareholders.
That alone made Amelia the more favorable choice in their eyes. And now that Elian had publicly taken her side, there was even less reason for anyone to object.
Raymond and Marcelo found themselves with no solid excuse to push back.
Raymond frowned and stayed silent, clearly at a loss for words. Marcelo followed his lead. He knew better than to speak out now.
“I’ll talk to Amelia when the time comes. We’ll see if she’s actually interested in joining us,” Raymond finally said, his tone light and vague. It was obvious he was stalling, not making a real commitment. Just a vague promise to buy time.
The truth was, he still needed to find a way to bring Gianna into the company. That was something he’d already promised Regina.
Unfortunately for him, Elian wasn’t an idiot. He immediately followed up, “I think it would be more appropriate for the board and upper management to handle this formally, maybe send
