Chapter 23 Betrayal on the Cliff
Even if it had been a complete stranger, Amelia would have still saved them.
She just never expected Gianna to be such an ungrateful wretch. Amelia had saved her life, only to get stabbed in the back.
Amelia quickly steadied herself and glanced down at the cliff below, bracing for the worst–case scenario.
Gianna tilted her head with an innocent smile. “Amelia, don’t blame me. God gave me this opportunity.”
“Gianna, what goes around comes around,” Amelia replied.
“Karma? Ha! I never believed in that nonsense. Amelia, you’re on your own now. Don’t worry though–I’ll make sure to send someone to rescue you. Just try to hang in there!” Gianna said with a smug grin.
You-
Just then, the vine made a snapping sound.
Amelia’s hand shot out and grabbed another vine.
The rain was coming down harder now.
Gianna stood up and stomped down hard on Amelia’s fingers. “Go to hell!”
Pain shot through Amelia’s hand, forcing her to let go.
Her body plummeted like a stone.
Seeing this, Gianna couldn’t suppress her smile.
Perfect! A fall from this height would definitely kill her.
She deliberately looked down into the dark, bottomless abyss.
Only then did Gianna leave, completely satisfied.
Who knew this reality show would give her such a perfect opportunity?
Once Amelia was out of the picture, everything would fall into place.
She wouldn’t have to compete for anything anymore.
She’d become the sole heiress of the Nygards. Then she’d marry Vincent.
The more Gianna thought about it, the more excited she became.
Despite the heavy rain, she wasn’t scared at all.
She knew there was a cave up ahead where she could take shelter–Amelia had just pointed it out to her.
So Gianna ran toward the cave. While running, she started shouting frantically, “Help me! Someone help!”
Meanwhile, as Amelia fell, she pulled out a survival dagger. The blade gleamed as she drove it hard into the rock wall.
Using the leverage, she swung herself around and began climbing up.
Amelia had spotted this location earlier.
She knew there was a cave nearby, about halfway down the cliff face.
With this downpour, she needed shelter and a chance to rest.
She’d been practically carrying Gianna through the storm earlier, so she needed to get her strength back.

Chapter 23 Betrayal on the Cliff
Sure enough, Amelia’s hunch paid off. The cave was perfect for taking shelter.
After the storm passed, she’d head out again. Time to give that backstabber a taste of her own
medicine.
Walking into the cave, Amelia discovered it was massive. It seemed to connect to the forest behind the cliff.
Suddenly, she noticed strange symbols carved into the wall.
Looking closer, they were markers left by the production crew!
Amelia’s eyes lit up as she followed the markers. She found a hidden supply cache built into the wall.
The cache contained food and medical supplies.
This had to be the “treasure” the crew had mentioned!
Finding these supplies meant she’d completed the mission.
Incredible! Talk about a stroke of luck.
Finished
Meanwhile, Gianna stumbled into the shelter cave. When the others saw her alone, they immediately surrounded her.
“Gianna, you’re back! Where’s Amelia? She went looking for you. Did you find her?” Bella frowned when she saw only one person had returned.
“Amelia, she… she accidentally fell off the cliff.”
Tears immediately started streaming down Gianna’s face. She collapsed to the ground, her voice breaking with emotion. “It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t wandered off, Amelia would never have had to come after me.”
All the color drained from Kristina’s face. “What? Fell off a cliff?”
“Quick! We need to contact the rescue team!” Patricia said urgently.
