Chapter 29 Desperate Ex–Fiancé

“Don’t mention it. Take care of yourself, and your complexion will improve,” Amelia advised.

After the door closed, Jeremy looked embarrassed. “He talks too much. Don’t mind him.”

Amelia chuckled. “You two have a great friendship.”

Soon, waiters began bringing out dishes.

They served the restaurant’s specialties, filling the table with exquisite cuisine.

The waiters quietly withdrew after serving, gently closing the ornate carved door.

“Try it and see how it tastes. If you’re not satisfied, I’ll have them remake everything,” Jeremy said.

Amelia paused in surprise. “You own this club?”

“Yeah. I couldn’t find a suitable place to dine, so I opened this private club,” Jeremy replied casually.

Anderson loved entertainment, so he had invested as well and handled management.

That was how Anderson knew Jeremy would be dining here today.

Amelia said nothing, quietly savoring the delicious food.

Jeremy ladled her a bowl of mushroom bisque, his movements elegant and practiced. “Eat more. By the way, did the Nygards give you trouble?”

“What do you think?” Amelia deliberately kept him guessing.

“Sounds like they still haven’t gotten the message.” Jeremy responded.

“No matter what, I have ways to handle it.” Amelia said confidently.

Jeremy smiled. She was definitely the right woman for him.

Jeremy kept filling Amelia’s plate throughout the meal and she ate until she was completely full.

She felt as if Jeremy were killing her with kindness.

The two chatted and laughed, and time passed quickly.

After finishing their meal, they left the private room.

In the main hall, Jeremy was pulled aside by a friend, while Amelia, having eaten too much, decided to walk in the garden. She had barely rounded a corner when she collided with someone.

“I’m sorry,” Amelia said politely.

The other person suddenly stepped forward, excitedly calling out, Amelia! You’re here too. Perfect! I’ve been looking all over for you.”

Hearing the voice, Amelia frowned with dread.

Sure enough, when she looked up, Vincent was standing before her.

Amelia stepped back, her gaze instantly turning cold. “Mr. Dester, please show some respect.”

Vincent ignored her words and eagerly stepped closer. “Amelia, I know you’re still angry. But give me five minutes. Just five minutes to explain, okay?”

Vincent had been searching for Amelia all this time.

Now that he had finally found her, he was overjoyed.

How could Amelia be so cruel to him?

“Mr. Dester, we broke off our engagement. The moment you left the engagement party, you and Gianna became a perfect match. You two should definitely stick together.” Amelia said.

“Amelia, you misunderstood. Gianna is like a sister to me,” Vincent explained.

“Ha! Such deep sibling love! Hugging each other like that without any shame.” Amelia said sarcastically.

“It wasn’t like that,” Vincent insisted, tightening his grip on Amelia.

Red marks immediately appeared on Amelia’s wrist.

“Let her go.”

Jeremy’s voice came from behind, ice–cold.

Vincent immediately released Amelia’s hand, his expression shifted. “Mr. Curran? You two…”

He was stunned.

Why was Jeremy here?

“Mr. Dester, harassing rhy guest on my property? How refined. It’s a real eye–opener into the Desters‘ upbringing.” Jeremy stepped forward and positioned himself in front of Amelia.
