Chapter 59 Twisted Accusations
Gianna let out a quiet breath of relief.
Uriah had handled things quickly.
Thank goodness.

Putting on her best frightened act, she whispered, “Vincent, Marcelo, forget it. I’m fine now. I don’t want to make a big deal out of this. I don’t want others to know.”
Vincent’s chest tightened with sympathy. “Gianna, you’re too kind. We can’t just let this slide!”
He turned to Marcelo and said, “We need to get to the bottom of this.”
Marcelo nodded; his gaze was as sharp as a blade. “I already sent people to track down those thugs.”
Just then, Raymond and Emery rushed in.
“Oh, Gianna, my poor baby, why are you in the hospital again? What on earth happened?” Emery wailed as she entered.
Vincent stood up politely when the couple walked in. “Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Nygard.”
They both nodded in return.
Marcelo quickly explained, “Mom, Dad, we’re already investigating.”
Gianna pressed her lips together, lowering her voice. “Marcelo, just let it go. I don’t blame Amelia. Maybe she was just acting on impulse …”
Her voice broke as tears streamed down her cheeks. She looked so wronged and fragile.
Emery’s fury exploded at this. “What? That brat is the one behind this again?”
Raymond’s face darkened. “Gianna, tell us everything. What happened?”
Gianna sobbed, choking on her words. “Amelia called me. She said she wanted to talk. When I got to the warehouse, a few men were there. They told me Amelia paid them to teach me a lesson. They said she hated me for stealing the brothers‘ love and Vincent too.”
Her story sounded convincing.
Vincent felt his blood boil. “When did Amelia become so wicked?”
Maxwell frowned slightly. “Are you sure they said Amelia sent them?”
Something didn’t feel right.
Amelia and Gianna had always been at odds, but calling her out to a remote place just to frame her?
That is way too bold.

And why would Gianna go to such a sketchy place without suspicion?
She isn’t that careless.
He felt the whole story didn’t add up.
Gianna shrank back, avoiding his gaze. “Maxwell, I–I’m not sure. But they kept saying it was Ms. Nygard who sent them.”
Anyway, who could tell one daughter of Nygards from another?
Emery was shaking with rage. “That ungrateful brat! Has she lost all conscience?”
Raymond’s expression was grim. “Call the lawyer. We’re pressing charges against Amelia for assault.”
Just then, a familiar voice came from the doorway. “Looking for me?”
Everyone’s eyes turned to the door.
Amelia stood there, calm and collected, her presence commanding the space.
She wore a plain white shirt and blue jeans, her long hair tied back casually. She looked sharp and simple, completely at odds with the tense atmosphere in the hospital room.
The sight of her walking in so boldly made everyone’s anger flare.
Gianna was lying there beaten and bruised, and Amelia didn’t look the least bit guilty. Was she really this arrogant?
They were just discussing how to deal with her when she showed up, strolling right in.
The moment Emery saw her, she rushed forward, raising her hand to strike. “You cruel, heartless brat! How dare you come here?”
She thought bitterly to herself. What kind of curse is this? How did I end up giving birth to such a troublemaker, who only goes against her family?
Amelia shifted aside, dodging the blow. Her voice was cold. “Mrs. Nygard, before you raise your hand, you should at least figure out the truth.”
Emery swung and missed. Her anger was burning hotter. “The truth? Gianna said you sent those men after her! And you still want to deny it?”
