This was a secret even Amelia’s three doting brothers, and maybe even her parents, probably didn’t know.
“Then find out where the poison came from and how Gianna got her hands on it.”
Since nothing suspicious turned up at the countryside villa, Amelia decided to follow the trail of the poison itself.
She was confident she would eventually uncover who was pulling strings behind Gianna.
Tyler jumped on the case right away. Using his contacts, he dug through black market drug rings and shady alchemist groups, leaving nothing unchecked.
For days, he pieced together scattered clues, analyzing every detail, not missing a thing.
During the search, Tyler found that a certain slow–acting poison had almost the exact same formula as the one Gianna had tried to use on Ursula. That poison came from a secretive group called the Alchemist Guild.
They stayed hidden, rarely showing up in public, and their poisons were often tied to dark, illegal dealings.
Amelia frowned when she heard it.
The Alchemist Guild?
That name was tied directly to things she’d learned before.
Years ago,
she’d vanished from a family party because of a rare drug.

Back then, she’d been poisoned and shipped off to a deserted island where a hidden lab was waiting for her…
If she hadn’t met her mentor, she probably would’ve ended up carved open as some test subject.
But that lab had been exposed, and Amelia managed to escape. The people behind it disappeared without a trace.
That island lab had been linked to the Alchemist Guild.
How did Gianna get mixed up with them? No, more like someone behind Gianna has ties to them.
“Heh.”

Amelia let out a cold laugh. Looks like I’ve stumbled into an even bigger mess than I thought.
She even started to wonder, was my sudden disappearance from the Nygards, or Gianna’s adoption into the family, planned all along?
Whatever the case, she was going to get to the bottom of it.
Amelia texted Tyler, telling him to keep digging. She was sure the trail would lead to something unexpected.
Before the poisoning incident at Ursula’s house, Amelia had planned to meet her close friend, Patience. Everything had gotten delayed, but now they finally met up.
At a cozy little coffee shop, the two of them sipped iced coffees and exchanged smiles.
“Amelia, it’s been forever! You’re gorgeous as always–no, even more gorgeous. What skincare do you use? Your skin’s glowing.”
Patience’s big almond eyes sparkled with curiosity.
“You’re ridiculous. You’re already stunning. Why would you envy me?” Amelia teased, both amused and a little helpless.
She didn’t have many true friends. Josie and Patience were her closest, way better than her cold, indifferent brothers.
She couldn’t understand why Maxwell would be so stupid. He’d just let a girl like Patience slip away.
Unlike Josie, who had been her friend before she disappeared, Amelia had met Patience only after coming back.
At the time, Patience had been Maxwell’s girlfriend and also a highly skilled talent manager.
Maxwell knew Gianna wanted to be a celebrity, so he spent a fortune building her image, even handling it personally.
And on top of that, he had Patience act as Gianna’s manager, pushing her career forward.
Patience loved Maxwell, so of course, she wanted to help his sister.
But Gianna had no real talent. She looked good and carried herself well, but her acting was rigid, her singing was lip–synced, and her dancing was below average.
Still, she insisted on chasing her dream of being a star.
