Chapter 22 Who Are You?
Jonathan remained noncommittal, clearly uninterested in his mother’s threats.
Jeremy, standing nearby, teased, “Mom, don’t worry. A little while ago, Jon asked me for an invitation to the Monroe family banquet and even had my senior in Parsille help him get a dress shipped. I’d guess the girl he brought with him today is the one he’s interested in.”
Shannon’s eyes lit up immediately. “Really? Jon has finally wised up?”
Jonathan didn’t confirm, merely replying, “She’s just a friend.”
Shannon had never seen him care about any girl this much. Since he was willing to go to such lengths for her, she assumed he must truly have feelings for her.
Excited, she declared, “I’m taking a private jet to Javerton tonight. I have to see this girl for myself!”
Fearing his mother might frighten Estella, Jonathan quickly changed the subject. “Mom, Mia is still pregnant with the second child, and Kayden needs your help as well. If you come here, what will they do?”
Shannon immediately looked at Mia’s belly, thinking of her eldest grandson, Kayden Bennett.
With Jeremy away, she knew she had to take good care of her daughter-in-law.
She turned to Jeremy with a tone of regret. “Jere, Jon doesn’t have much experience with relationships. Can you help him out, maybe teach him some tricks for winning a girl’s heart?”
Jeremy smiled and nodded.
The call ended..
Jeremy gave Jonathan a mischievous look. “So, you’ve really met someone you like?”
Jonathan raised an eyebrow as he remained silent.
Jeremy knew Jonathan well. Other than when talking in court, Jonathan wasn’t the type to engage in casual
conversation.
Curious, Jeremy pressed on, “Aren’t you going to introduce me to her? I can help you out.”
Jonathan stood up, clearly not interested in discussing the topic any further.
“Jeremy, don’t reveal my identity when you’re in Javerton.”
Jeremy understood Jonathan’s preference for privacy and agreed. “Alright, no problem. By the your place just a two-bedroom apartment? I’ll stay with you for a few days.”

“It’s not convenient.”
Jonathan outright refused. “I’ll be working in the study tonight. You should stay at a hotel.”
“You heartless brat!” Jeremy laughed and scolded, then added, “I’ve arranged for Mr. Chase to come. If you

need anything, just speak with him. He should be arriving soon.”
“Thanks, Jeremy,” Jonathan sincerely expressed his gratitude.
He knew Jeremy also valued his freedom, and if it weren’t for helping him pursue his legal career, Jeremy wouldn’t have taken over Bennett Group so early.
“No worries. Maybe you could introduce me to your girlfriend?” Jeremy suggested with a grin.
Jonathan chose to ignore his brother’s comment.
Estella didn’t recognize anyone at the banquet, so she found a corner to sit in.
Naomi, who had just arrived, spotted her immediately.
After their previous encounter at the luxury store, Naomi had built up a lot of resentment toward Estella. On top of that, she had learned from Isabelle about Estella’s rumored relationships with wealthy men, leading her to believe Estella had relied on an older man to get into the event.
She inwardly scorned Estella.
To her surprise, after leaving Nathaniel, Estella had turned out to be so careless, flirtatious, and seemed to be trying to seduce other men.
She approached Estella, mocking her. “Estella, which sugar daddy helped you get in here?”
Estella retorted without hesitation, “Ms. Naomi, it’s your mind that’s filthy. Everything you see is dirty.”
Naomi, furious, took a closer look at Estella’s dress, only to realize it was haute couture, and it was far more expensive than her own.
Jealousy bubbled up as she sneered, “What’s the point of pretending? Your dress and jewelry don’t look cheap. Did some old man buy them for you? He must really spoil you. Guess you’ve been working hard in bed, huh?”
Estella, uninterested in engaging with Naomi, attempted to leave, but Naomi blocked her path.
